Sunday, September 5, 2010. 终于可以照原定计划上路了，之前还无时无刻担心老板可能强制留人。启程前几天，老板还说下个礼拜来新，我铁定般地回一句＂我不在＂，计划幸亏就此延迟一星期。谢天谢地！ 此程的另一顾虑是舒适度。中国的卫生水平是有些地方令人水土不服。丝绸之路源于长安至地中海。要走这一小段带动世界贸易的古路，除了压制期望，也别无选择。 第一站是乌鲁木齐著名景点- 天池，海拔1,980公尺。虽是夏末初秋，山脚的气温也只有10度，再坐15分钟缆车和电车，池边的气温肯定低过10度，天空也竟下. 起小雪。团内30人都被冷温偷袭，不是躲在大块头后挡风，就是买米酒／茶叶蛋取暖。午餐以蔬菜为主；无肉不欢的我们自掏腰包，加了羊肉串和饼囊 。 离开乌鲁木齐市，往吐鲁番，路经亚洲最大的达坂城风力发电站，虽是丝绸之路罗干年后的发展，但是摄影好景点。 交河古城，一个为避开吐鲁番炎热夏天，酷冷冬天，而建设的地下城。时过境迁，千年后的残迹，也只能凭空想象当年的伟观。 在鄯善用了午餐，之后的路段不平坦，既不舒服，又慢了车速...到了哈密的旅店，匆匆扒...

Sunday, October 18, 2009. 上一次出国度假是2008年11月。度过了近一年的度假旱季，终于有了一个小机会。 9月26日，正是农历8月初8 - 结婚的良辰吉日，被邀参加婚宴。婚宴的地点在靠近樟宜机场的 Changi Village Hotel. 65292;在一般新加坡人眼里，算是路途相当遥远，就好比出国般。就因为远，酒店的卖点就是希望客人有如出国的感觉，除了有Spa， 还有知名的餐馆。就这样，我们的2天1夜的＂假期＂就敲定了。 这一天，刚好是新加坡F1赛车的前夕。“度假”前，先到Maxwell Market医肚子，就目睹了全场香车的这一幕。 原来Ferrari凭F1赛车手，Kimi Raikkonen, 的号召力，邀请名流参观车展。名流们齐聚一堂，当然不落人后，齐齐展示耀眼香车。清一色，红黑黄！ Sunday, October 11, 2009. Thursday, 1 July 2010. 2 weeks ago, I made a 2-tier cake for an order. A 2-tier cake covered with fresh (whipped non-dairy) cream. For a 21st birthday. What if I screw up the poor girl's birthday? Honestly, I never felt so stressed up in any of my previous jobs. The thought of screwing up really gave me big jitters. Real big ones. For my cake. So, down the bin went a 10" cake. I baked another one again and thankfully it turned out much better. It was midnight, but I had to wait for the cake t...Seriously...

I was in a baking mood 2 evenings ago.so i thought hard on how i could make use of existing ingredients i have. i attempted a variation of my banana and choc chip bread (which actually is more like cake.it is in one of the earlier posts), and substituted with apples and cinnamon. Monday, November 30, 2009. 10月31日正是万圣节，朋友为儿子办万圣节派对，邀我到她家凑热闹。到网上逛一逛，发现有万圣节主题的cupcakes，就订了一组。Cupcakes最近在新掀起一股热潮，好几位年轻创业家开门营业卖cupcakes或开办cupcakes烘烤班，如 Oni Cupakes. 65292; Cupcake Momma. 12290;看到买回来的cupcakes，不难理解这股热潮。颜色鲜艳，卖相超赞，创意十足。 11月7日，首批cupcakes出炉。蛋糕的口感比较沉，没想相中的那么松软。Topping 是甜滋滋的buttercream。有待改进！ 11月14日，把buttercream换掉，改用巧克力和新鲜奶油，做成较大型蛋糕式。卖相还可以，照片如下，不过蛋糕的口感还没另找食谱。下礼拜吧！ 11月21日，同事建议用现成的cake mix，不过效果还是欠佳。继续努力！ 11月28日，在网上找到sponge cake 的食谱，还是不行。咳！看来得拜师学艺了！ Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Sunday, September 20, 2009. 老爸难得在新过生日，也就乘这个机会搞个生日派对，顺便和久违的亲戚们聚一聚。 九月十九日，周家与王家两方， 老老少少近百人聚集在Swissotel Merchant Court 的 Ellenborough Market Cafe，共度周六夜晚。吃的是自助餐，有国际加娘惹餐。 生日蛋糕是Classic Cakes 的 Black Forest Cake。 吃了好几次，就喜欢它不太甜，酒精也不太浓，其他人吃了也有同感。 第一次特订，卖相还不赖，还包送到酒店，不过价钱就没得赞，就连装蛋糕的盒子也得另外算 （因为四公斤的蛋糕需要特大号，特别订购的盒子）。 没办法啦！有兴趣的话，它的中式萝卜糕也不错。 Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
