A Paleo People: Don't Stop Believin'!
http://paleopeople.blogspot.com/2011/10/dont-stop-believin.html
We eat meat. And veggies. And nuts. Sometimes some fruit. But mostly.we eat meat. Wednesday, October 26, 2011. I think I give up too easily. Not always, and not on everything. Mostly just on eating right. After about 5 days, I realized that H and I can't afford to eat Paleo right now because it's just too expensive to keep lots of meat and veggies in a house where 2 people eat 5-6 times a day. Our budget was crying when I tried to figure out how to afford good groceries. Walls like this really bum me out.
A Paleo People: Confessions
http://paleopeople.blogspot.com/2011/09/confessions.html
We eat meat. And veggies. And nuts. Sometimes some fruit. But mostly.we eat meat. Monday, September 5, 2011. I have a few confessions to make. : deep breath: Okay here goes (and no judging, please). H and I have fallen off the Paleo/Crossfit wagon. I have gained 5 pounds back. There I said it. It's been awful keeping this inside, and it feels so good to finally say it. Guh. It has been such a hard month (Yes, a month. I know.remember, I said NO judging! We have had people here constantly. I feel so good!

Walking in Faith: July 2014
http://faithfulmelissa.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 7, 2014. Gold vs. Silver. When I was little, I can remember my Grammy sitting me on her lap and singing a song about friendship to me. She would smile as she sang, and it always made me feel so secure that the message of the song was true to life:. But keep the old;. And the other, gold. Without these silver friendships, the ones that are important but aren't necessarily the long-lasting ones that will pass the test of time, would I be able to value the gold friendships as much? The friendsh...
Walking in Faith: December 2013
http://faithfulmelissa.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 31, 2013. As usual, I'll end my year with a reflection. I know it seems cliche, but as I'm going on my fourth year of writing this blog in January, it seems only right to finish up the calendar year and the blogging year all at once. Also, the OCD in me requires things to be tied up with a nice little bow before I can close one chapter and start the next. 2013 was a year with a lot. Of ups and downs for us, and I think even that is an understatement. I became more involved in both PWOC ...
Walking in Faith: Lent Lessons
http://faithfulmelissa.blogspot.com/2014/04/lent-lessons.html
Saturday, April 19, 2014. I've spent the past 40 days off of Facebook for personal use as my sacrifice for Lent. Disclaimer: I totally used it for Tastefully Simple stuff and PWOC Bible study stuff. God and I worked it out. No biggie. The idea was that I was giving up something that I rely on. And waste a lot of time on to show God that I don't need it because He is all I need. Because, really, do I need. Facebook in my life? For the International Justice Mission. God also opened a new door in terms of a...
Walking in Faith: August 2013

Sunday, August 25, 2013. Allergies, or is Baby K already trolling me. My little Nugget is quite the troll and he isn't even here yet. I've always had acid reflux issues, and Tums are my BFF. But the heartburn I have had since finding out I was preggers makes my acid reflux look like the hiccups. That, combined with the feeling like I need to take naps at the most random times, and the allergies that make it almost impossible to be outside, and I feel like my body is turning on me. A third (maybe) of my s...
Walking in Faith: September 2013
http://faithfulmelissa.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 26, 2013. Holes in our Heart. A small baby, but a big hole. So far, that's the most accurate sentiment for what I'm feeling. At only 9 weeks (but measuring 6), our baby was the size of a lentil when we went into the ER for an ultrasound due to cramping and bleeding. That was four days ago. A lentil. And yet the hole it's left in our hearts and our lives is so much bigger. We're finding that our faith is stronger than we realize. And that God's plan is always. Not by a long shot. I jus...

Walking in Faith: December 2014

Tuesday, December 9, 2014. My Own Personal Zwischen. Today I learned a new word, which at this stage of pregnancy (38 weeks, 3 days) is a special feat in and of itself. Zwischen. It's German, and it means "between.". It is the epitome of where I find myself lately. In between. In between being childless and a mommy. In between my body being my own and belonging to the baby growing inside. In between the joy of holding my daughter and the fear of what comes next. Pregnancy limbo. Zwischen. Hoping for: Thi...
Walking in Faith: January 2014
http://faithfulmelissa.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 9, 2014. I recently heard someone use the term "life verse" about a particular scripture. It's a term I'd never heard before, but after hearing it I had that "what did I ever do before finding " moment; what did I do without this term before? That got me thinking: What is my life verse? Wait, do I even have. Turns out, I do! Only one verse came to mind, and it's one that God has used so much in my life over the past. That a coworker and friend from the Montessori School of Bowling Green.
