Tuesday, February 17, 2015. The Evolution of Diet: Diving for Dinner With the Sea Gypsies. Water, water everywhere, lapping at your house. Your house is your boat. The ocean is your food source, and it’s the bluest kind of blue. You are a true Bajau. http://paleyphoto.blogspot.com/2015/02/the-evolution-of-diet-spring-in-crete.html
Sunday, February 15, 2015. The Evolution of Diet: Spring in Crete Means a Feast of Wild Greens. Vangelio is in her 80s. She is foraging for wild herbs the same as she has done since she was a little girl. Above us is the small village of Meronas. Across from the wild valley stands Mount Psiloritis, its round peak still covered in snow. Olive groves are everywhere. 8220;Now, we make kalitsounia! 8220;And they are full of Omega 3, no fat on that meat either! I am offered a kalitsounia, hot out of the pan:.

Living From the Inside Out. Laquo; Kindness to Ourselves, the Heart of Healing. Ask, and You Shall Receive. Contentment in the Rain. March 30, 2011 by Mara Rose. Like happiness, is often elusive. When we grasp for it, our hands are left empty. But sometimes, seemingly out of nowhere, contentment. Hard The aftermath of my hard fall. Hard, spent several hours stuck in traffic. Not a day I expected to experience contentment. I drove to the stable where I keep my Arabian. Life in the present moment, now.

Maximobo: Pause & Rewind: Scared of What? Part II
http://www.maximobo.com/2012/09/pause-rewind-scared-of-what-part-ii.html
Monday, September 3, 2012. Pause and Rewind: Scared of What? My last post was about being scared during pregnancy, and basically covered the primary issue of fearing what kind of a parent I will turn out to be. In terms of fears during the pregnancy itself, as soon as the two lines on the pregnancy test revealed themselves on the little white stick, then the first fears kick in. Of miscarriage. Approximately 75% of all miscarriages occur in the first trimester. Which awarded me a miscarriage probability ...

Thursday, June 28, 2012. Pause and Rewind: Generic Shwedagon Monsoon Visit. Another trip to the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon. Another 50 photos. Each time you leave feeling you've seen it in a different way, or spotted something new. I've never been during the rainy season, nor in the middle of the afternoon. Generic Photo #1: The pagoda itself. View from the North Entrance (my favourite). Generic Photo #2: Someone sleeping. Praying is tiring. The site is used as a picnic area and dorm. Google translate it...

Maximobo: Yangon Days: Back to the Future
http://www.maximobo.com/2012/08/yangon-days-back-to-future.html
Sunday, August 26, 2012. Yangon Days: Back to the Future. When I was 15 I was given a bicycle for my birthday (how original! I rode on it everywhere, and mastered the art of not falling off whilst drunk (which I used as recently as yesterday). And SPDs, though it was frankly a waste of time in suburban Manchester when noone cared about cycling in the UK and I kept on falling over at traffic lights). It's so beautiful that you could even get a tattoo of it on your leg. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Friday, February 20, 2015. The Evolution of Diet: The High Altitude Diet of Afghanistan’s Nomads. The origins of Matthieu Paley’s documentation of food and culture for National Geographic. Began in the Pamir Mountains: 14,000 feet above sea level in an area known as the Bam-e Dunya, which means “roof of the world.” His work here, photographing the lives of Afghanistan’s Kyrgyz nomads, led to another assignment, the “Evolution of Diet,” in the September 2014 issue.
