Thursday, September 18, 2008. Ooooohh, nice. You made the transition from line to form very smoothly. The only thing that I could crit on would be that your cast shadows are going into the black range (such as under the shoulder piece on the left arm), try throwing them toward a saturated violet. In my opinion, it didn't turn out as good as it was last week, but there were still a couple of ones I really enjoyed. The last one required major alterations to the face- after I drew it I realized it looked creepily like a naked me. 3D pose lighting ref. This was supposed to be a quick perspective reference and I got a little carried away. I think lighting and texture are my favorite things about 3D. EDIT: So, I received critique that my reference was too washed out, which is TRUE. I ended up upping the contrast a lot in the final, which was made in, of all things, Tegaki. I'm not fully happy with it, as is typical, but it was a lot of fun trying out a different process. Next time I'm using Photoshop, though. View my complete profile.

I did this instead of sleeping! D Have a close up. Would you believe I've been wanting to draw that picture since about seventh grade? Drawing feet is for sissies. I think this is the version I'm going to start working from. I'm not sure if I'll keep the blue. The character is meant to have rather drab robes. However, I'm happy with the overall design.
