Brooks: Camping over the 4th of July.
http://thebrooksblag.blogspot.com/2015/08/camping-over-4th-of-july.html
Camping over the 4th of July. For the 4th of July, we headed up to the Stanley basin with Brad and Angie to camp for a few days. It was packed! And we didn't roll in until about 11 pm. We drove around for an hour and a half (and had to back the trailer out of a precarious spot.ugh), but finally found a spot right on the Salmon River. Posing in front of the Sawtooths. Eating a Fiber 1 bar (which Clara calls five-year-old bar - stinkin' cute). I took this pic on top of Galena Summit. What a cutie!

My friend Teri's husband Dave is a photographer, and graciously took the Waldon Family photos this year. We got a few shots in front of the house Paul and Cynth have lived in since I was 5. And then we headed down below their house to the wetlands area and took some more. This next shot would have been my fave, but we adults couldn't get our act together and all look good at the same time! I love the blue sky and tan grasses! I love this next one! This was the one on our Christmas card! Then he felt angry.

First snow of 2014. We had our first snow and it didn't stop for about 24 hours, which meant we got a snow day! Clara and I played all morning outside with our neighbor girls, and I shoveled three times! It is a fun season in Clara's life, because she can remember many things from previous years. So as soon as she woke and saw all the snow on the ground, she insisted we go out to play right away! I had to convince her to take a minute to eat some breakfast first! Kids yoga - 31straight minutes of it!
Brooks: Summer fun.
http://thebrooksblag.blogspot.com/2015/08/summer-fun.html
It's my last day of summer vacation, so I want to recap some of the fun we had this summer. We enjoyed watching the garden grow and the fun visitors to the yard (see the quail in front of the geraniums - she had 3 babies with her). We were lucky to have lots of cousin time! We swam in Oma and Opa's pool quite a bit - this time it was with our friends! Clara started taking piano lessons from Oma. Here she is working on her theory. It was always a good time! Water park with cousins! Clara took the BEST Zum...

This will be picture overload, but I want to get caught up and include all our fall fun in this post! Clara's really settled in to preschool! She is full of fun stories and loves her friends and teacher. She's learned so many songs, stories, prayers, and has had so many wonderful opportunities to learn through play. We love her school! We made a visit to Lewiston in September, and helped sell Kaufman corn at the Moscow Farmers market! Their corn tastes amazing, especially RAW! And a little overgrown....

These are just a few funny, recent pictures of Clara. I posted this on Facebook with this picture:. This is Clara's shopping cart. The first time she came to me, the grocery store lady, she bought "schmarshmallows", chocolate, salad, lettuce, and Cheerios. The second time she came to my store, she bought beer and told me she was a grown up who had a baby whose teeth just fell out because she ate too much candy. Enjoying the sunshine in our backyard after a picnic lunch last weekend. Getting way up there!

Here's a play-by-play of our year! Looking back, I sure am thankful for the incredible experiences we had! We are so lucky to share life with incredible friends and family. We had the dreaded Boise inversion for weeks in January. It got so icky, that we decided to drive to the Oregon Owyhees and hike just to see blue sky. It was glorious! We spent the rest of the month trying to stay warm and keeping things low key after the holidays! It really was warm out there! We visited Zoo Boise. Both sides of our ...
Brooks: Driving from the midwest back home to Idaho.
http://thebrooksblag.blogspot.com/2015/08/driving-from-midwest-back-home-to-idaho.html
Driving from the midwest back home to Idaho. We left the ranch very early in the morning to get home in one day. We were lucky to see. The Buffalo Gap National Grassland, the Black Hills National Forest, Mount Rushmore National Monument. The self timer option from my camera worked pretty well at 6:45 am! We were the only ones there and the gates weren't even charging admission. I hate to say it, but the early bird really does get the worm! The Bighorn National Forest complete with a mother and baby moose.

First season of soccer. Clara started soccer this year! It was hysterical. 6 kids were on her team, and only 3 were on the field at a time. The kids learned some basics like which direction to go and to NOT use their hands. But most importantly, they had a blast out there! Clara seriously smiled the entire time she was playing with her friends. It was a fabulous first experience! And Kurtis was one of the coaches! It was almost Easter, so we painted some Easter eggs to hang as a garland on the mantle.
