Converting an 1825 Federal two family home back to a single family home. Thursday, October 29, 2009. And painted everything. We rented downstairs and lived upstairs. We finished half the attic into a guest room/play room and added a bathroom (shower only). Then we lived in CA for 16 months, the UK for 6 months and traveled extensively. When we got back we started detail planning. This took years. These are our present projects:. Gutting 2 baths (and moving one wall). Moving a few doorways for better flow.

Converting an 1825 Federal two family home back to a single family home. Monday, December 7, 2009. When it rains it pours. Finally our old knob and tube circuit for the kitchen gave up this weekend. This circuit has the refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, kitchen lights, stove, stove fan and light, wash machine, dining room light and Lauren's room on it. All on ONE 100 year old wired circuit. Office, living room, hall, bathroom and the 2 bedrooms). 95% of the house is run off two 15A circuits!
