Marty and Emily: December 2013
http://martyandem.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 18, 2013. Lately I'm feeling a fire lit under me about record-keeping. I really want to record all kinds of things. Things like:. Day-to-day events in my home. Spiritual enlightenment (personal revelation). My thoughts on different issues. Everything from the "opt-in pornography petition" going around (which I think is admirable, but misguided btw) to common core to the protection of the family. I need to write more letters (the kind with a.what's it called? Letters to my kids. Scrapb...

Marty and Emily: October 2013
http://martyandem.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 24, 2013. The Millie May will be 6 months old next week. I can't believe it! Brynn went outside and found a flower to put in her hair. Are you texting Grandma? Let me make a silly face.". Yes, we are still working through the no-naps thing. This is not the only time he has fallen asleep at dinner. Two nights ago I found him asleep, standing up, on the bunkbed ladder. You heard me. Having a rough day, we escaped to the park. This was around 10:00. Wednesday, October 16, 2013. For the fir...

Marty and Emily: February 2014
http://martyandem.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 11, 2014. Sometimes my blessings are also my trials - Is that ok? I know I shouldn't complain. I always feel horribly ungrateful when I vent. But here I go anyway. But then what we have is several nights in a row with someone up every hour or two. I paid my dues. Camille is nine months old now and I don't want to be doing that any more (how whiny is that sentence? This come at one of Marty's busiest times of the year? By the way, I now find people who brag about their kids' good health ...

Marty and Emily: March 2014
http://martyandem.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 30, 2014. Which brings us to March. And there we go. That's the blessing of the sealing power. Those pictures are at Organ Stop Pizza. We take all of our babies there when they turn a year old. This was a little early for her, but we were dying to take Neil. That place holds some of my fondest memories of my life. Have I mentioned that 12:00 is the worst church time for us? But we had a change of heart and decided to make the most of it. At about 5:30 we showed up with her at Denny's, o...

Marty and Emily: January 2014
http://martyandem.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 30, 2014. Basic phone pics 4. I'm sensing a pattern in all of these "a day in the life of." pictures. I'm perceiving more and more the things that I love the most. Obviously, my kids. But more specifically; being outside with them, watching them in their baths (no surprise there, naked baby behinds have always been my favorite! I had a non-negotiable neighbor-gift delivery set in stone on my calendar the Saturday before Christmas. Instead, I brought Marty home from the hospital and ...

Marty and Emily: Brynn's Baptism
http://martyandem.blogspot.com/2015/05/brynns-baptism.html
Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Brynn was baptized in January. The day was pretty much like I expected it to be. It was crazy and busy with people flying in and staying with us (we wouldn't have it any other way). I forgot some things, had some panicky moments, savored what parts of the day I made myself calm down for. Basically.one of my favorite parenting days I've ever had. Her grandpa Johnson spoke and she sang a little duet with Bryce. I cant believe you have a child old enough to be baptized! SF Class of '02.

Marty and Emily: June 2014
http://martyandem.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 17, 2014. Anyway, Brynn and I had a great year of piano together! When Marty and I were engaged, he mentioned how great it was that we'd never have to pay for piano lessons since I could just teach our own kids. I informed him that I would not. Be teaching our own kids. I had heard so much about how hard it is, I didn't even want to go there. But now that I actually have my own, I really want to teach them! So I'm learning some things. I get to be in control of what and how she is learning.

Marty and Emily: April 2014
http://martyandem.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 2, 2014. Spring Break in UT. We took a week long trip up to UT for Spring Break. I'm much less able to make it a full year without visiting all our family up there when I have a little baby (they change so fast! We planned to go and then had to cancel for both Fall and Christmas break, so this time we were serious! It was a quick trip, but sorely needed. Have I mentioned yet that February was out-of-control-crazy? I have rarely ever seen Marty so burned out and trunky! We met up with Ann...

Marty and Emily: June 2015
http://martyandem.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 1, 2015. All over the place (but mostly last fall). What an exciting time to be an Arizonan! When we moved to AZ there were just the Mesa and Snowflake temples. Since we've moved here, we've been able to attend the open houses for the Gila Valley, Gilbert, Phoenix, and soon the Tuscon temple. I'm so grateful our family could be a part of it! Eventually he went back to play, but I spent the evening on "concussion watch" and even woke him up several times during the night to make sure he was ok.
