Sunday, March 21, 2010. Grab some popcorn and lets reflect. How you might use instructional video projects in your teaching? Posted by Krista Twitchell Burkhart. Thursday, March 18, 2010. Finding pretty images on Flickr. Everyone knows that in order to become a good searcher, one must learn how to narrow down the results to get the most beautiful images. For the recent assignment in this class we need to find Creative Commons-licensed pictures on flickr. So Say you search for "ice cream.". My students wi...

Paperbacktripping into Teaching: Interweb Safety

http://paperbacktripping.blogspot.com/2010/04/interweb-saftey.html

Saturday, April 10, 2010. For my internet safety activity I decided to become isafe certified. Here are some statistics I learned about kids on the interned. 40% of websites ask for private information. 25% of kids encountered a stranger on online chat. 9% of kids believe it is okay to post their picture on the internet. I was shocked by these facts mainly because this is dealing with elementary school aged children! It is a sad fact that nowhere is safe in this world. Posted by Krista Twitchell Burkhart.

Tuesday, January 19, 2010. What am I following? Note: Screen Shot is clickable. In looking for my own "personal learning network" I tried to find different types of resources from lesser known, teacher run blogs to more trafficked sites. 1 http:/ educationaltechnologyguy.blogspot.com/. It isn't for me as a future history teacher but I couldn't say no to following this blog. I mean, he offers links to online whiteboards! Paperbacktripping into Teaching: I'm going to make a movie project for my students!

http://paperbacktripping.blogspot.com/2010/03/im-going-to-creat-movie-project-for-my.html

Monday, March 15, 2010. I'm going to make a movie project for my students! Why would I do that? The purpose is to connect to historical events and people from their previous knowledge of them. It is also a way for me to assess what my students already know so I know what to teach them about Lewis and Clark. How am I going to go about doing this? They have to include the following:. What they know about Lewis and Clark. What their family knows about Lewis and Clark. Http:/ docs.google.com/Doc?

Paperbacktripping into Teaching: Noun: Innovation

http://paperbacktripping.blogspot.com/2010/04/noun-innovation.html

Monday, April 5, 2010. 1st- no fun for the child that likes to type ad doesn't get to. 2nd- no fun for the child that gets called on if they feel uncomfortable with typing in front of the entire class. It reminds me of when I was called on to write on the board. I didn't have the best spelling or handwriting and when I would get something wrong my peers were sure to let me know about it. As for the pros. Working together to create one document is a great idea! Posted by Krista Twitchell Burkhart.

Suzie Loves History: IIC Competition

http://historysuzie.blogspot.com/2010/04/iic-competition.html

Monday, April 12, 2010. I thought that this group was very logical in the way that they presented their goal and their tools for accomplishing their goal. Many of the other pitches had way to much information and materials to model. It was difficult to remember what their objective was, and what technology you were learning about. The technologies this group presented were simple and had a specific task that would help the students accomplish their goals. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Friday, April 23, 2010. I didn't really think that I would like the wiki assignment, but I think that it is probably one of easiest and coolest technologies that we have learned. A lot of people liked the website the most, but I think that having a class wiki would be awesome! Thursday, April 22, 2010. I am most pleased with my work on the video that I made with iMovie. Friday, January 29, 2010. If I had the money. Okay, if I had the money I would buy all of the books on this. Website, but I would especially buy this book,. The Rutledge Atlas of Jewish History. Four thousand years of Jewish history.maps included. I am geeking out here. Suzie Loves History: Internet Safety

http://historysuzie.blogspot.com/2010/04/internet-safety.html

Thursday, April 15, 2010. 1 What were the most important things I learned from the readings? That there are ways to try and prevent bad things from happening to you on the internet; there are ways to be safe, but nothing is a guarantee. 2 How will what I have read influence my actions as a parent and/or teacher of children and youth? 3 How can I use what I have learned from the reading to have a positive influence on family and friends? Do I know how to prevent cyberbullying? There were quite a few sites...

Monday, March 15, 2010. I added my storyboard to the word document on the Teaching with Technology Blog. I hope that I did it right. I could not get the pictures to paste into any kind of document in Google Documents or in the word document on the blog. I can e-mail the word document that I originally wrote if that would be better. Thanks! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Personal Technology Project-Virtual Field Trip. View my complete profile.
