Paper Perks: July 2011

http://paperperks.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

Sunday, July 24, 2011. A Card for a Friend. I recently spent a few days at the summer home. Of a very gracious friend, and made this Thank You note for her. Her last name is Reynolds and this is her nickname for her home on Cape Cod. I wanted the card to reflect the beautiful hydrangeas. And roses around her house. Hope she liked it! Sunday, July 17, 2011. Art With a Heart. Recently I was searching for paper artists online, and I came across the beautiful work of cut paper artist Vanessa Stone. For me, t...

Paper Perks: Lily

http://paperperks.blogspot.com/2011/06/lily.html

Monday, June 13, 2011. Last week I finished this mixed media portrait. Of my friend Lorna's granddaughter Lily. The hair is fabric, the bow is made from ribbon. And the face, dress and collar are paper. I used the edge of a paper doily to trim. The collar, and pigma pens and colored pencils for the face. Oh, and the buttons are real, of course! These are photos and they don't really show the shiny fabrics. Of the hair, also the fact that the matting is white,. But it was too big for my scanner. For me, t...

Paper Perks: November 2009

http://paperperks.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

Thursday, November 12, 2009. In this 'portrait' I loved juxtaposing this sophisticated lady with her playful cat. For so many people, pets are important family members, providing companionship, love and enjoyment. I used a variety of papers to create this picture, as well as very fine pigma pens and colored pencils. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Visit my other blog, Sketching With Stitches. Paper Perks: Happy New Year!

http://paperperks.blogspot.com/2012/12/happy-new-year.html

Monday, December 31, 2012. Wishing you a very happy. Michelle V. Alkerton, mixed media artist. January 1, 2013 at 3:07 PM. Happy New Year Judy! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Visit my other blog, Sketching With Stitches. Every child is an artist. How to remain an artist. Once he grows up.". I have always loved cutting and gluing paper. Even as a child, I would cut up bits of colored tissue, overlapping pieces to create new colors as the wetness of the glue made the colors run into each other.

Judy Hartman : November 2014

http://judyhartman.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

Saturday, November 22, 2014. Is anyone finding, as I am, that November is slipping by very quickly? Where do the days go? I'm doing some new work, but here are a few more photos of the pieces I completed recently for an artisan show. My photos are not great - sorry! This picture is mounted on white linen and. Is made with fabric, hand embroidery, beading, trims and machine stitching. This little tree sold quickly. I used similar materials on it,. With the addition of painted green lace in the foreground.

Judy Hartman : July 2015

http://judyhartman.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 28, 2015. I finished up this drawing today, enjoying the process and not worrying about the results. I used Micron pens, extra-fine Sharpies and watercolor pencils. This reminds me of Rosie, who tries to eat flowers. Looks like she is resting in a potential salad of blossoms! Yes, I keep flowers away from her! Hope you are having a great week! Judy Hartman : May 2015

Sunday, May 10, 2015. A Few Words About My Mom. Today is Mothers Day and I'm thinking about my mom, who passed away in 2007. We had a really wonderful relationship and we spent a lot of time laughing together. My tears were mixed with laughter and I was devastated when she died the next day. My support, my rock and my partner in crime was gone - such a huge loss! It was amazing timing and I do believe it was a sign that my mom had indeed begun her "big adventure". Thursday, May 7, 2015. Judy Hartman : Savor Summer - Joy List Monday

http://judyhartman.blogspot.com/2015/07/savor-summer-joy-list-monday.html

Monday, July 20, 2015. Savor Summer - Joy List Monday. I have a confession to make:. I am not a summer person. I have a friend who loves summer so much, we call her "Summer Girl". She loves the beach, being on Cape Cod, the ocean and walking in the sand. I love air conditioning and fans, being inside and emerging on a cool day,. Catching up on projects, and looking out at my tiny garden outside my porch. So, my joy list today is about INSIDE projects! It makes me smile. Love this Matisse print! I'm not b...

From Your Mind's Eye: Imagination

http://fromyourmindseye.blogspot.com/2012/07/imagination.html

From Your Mind's Eye. Tuesday, July 24, 2012. The other day, I watched a wonderful movie that reminded me of the importance of using our imaginations. It was called. The Magic of Belle Island. A crotchety old author moved to the Island to drink away the rest of his days in bitterness and disappointment His neighbors, a newly divorced mother and her three daughters changed all of that for him. His impact on their lives was powerful as well. They are stolen moments that come with much peace and joy for me&...

From Your Mind's Eye: Where did the last five years go?

http://fromyourmindseye.blogspot.com/2011/01/where-did-last-five-years-go.html

From Your Mind's Eye. Monday, January 24, 2011. Where did the last five years go? Sometimes your heart just fills with love from the simplest of things. A father changes the number 5 on the birthday board he made his daughter when she was 1, to a 6. Where did the past 5 years go, he asks? Lamenting the rapid passage of time and his little girls growth. She watches in wonder as the 5 disappears and the 6 takes it's place on the board for another year. What color should it be, her Daddys asks? Subscribe to...
