The nominate race of Papilio indra is commonly known as the Short-tailed Black Swallowtail. Has the widest geographical distribution of all the Papilio indra subspecies. Often considered “rare” by collectors, it is actually fairly common in most of it’s range, but prefers inaccessible habitat such as rocky cliffs and peaks.
