The new building for stabling, production, and laboratory facilities. In 2012, new facilities was constructed in The Science Park (SCION DTU) including stables, laboratories, and offices. Official permission for animal experimentation has been granted. The facilities will be used exclusively by PT and will be separated from any other animal facilities. No other pig housing facilities are located within a 5 km radius. Main characteristics of the building are:. Parasite Technologies exclusive activities.

TSO is an abbreviation for Trichuris suis. The scientific name for the eggs produced by the pig whipworm. The whipworm is a common intestinal parasite of organic, free-ranging, or wild pigs, and as such an organism which has always been found in the intermediate environment of many humans. The concept of using TSO against immune diseases is to stimulate the immune system by a substance that is not provoking disease, but brings the defense system of the body back in balance.

Parasite Technologies A/S (PT) was founded in 2004 by prof. Christian Kapel, dr. Allan Roepstorff and prof. Stig Thamsborg. PT has permission from the Danish Medicines Agency (DMA) to produce a biological medicinal product containing Trichuris suis. Eggs (TSO) for human administration. PT has a patent-protected production which has supplied phase 2 clinical trial on IDB (Intestinal Bowel Disease) approved by EMA (Dr. Falk Pharma, Germany) and FDA (Coronado Biosciences, US). Other patents are pending.
