Assumptions - Matt Bush

Assumptions - Matt Bush. Jan 7th, 2008 10:30 am. De La Soul - The Magic Number. A long time ago I had someone tell me that a good scientist should discard an assumption every morning for breakfast. I was recently reminded of this while watching an excellent series. On thinking about global climate change (if you have a couple of hours, I highly recommend it.) While technically I'm not a scientist by trade, I like to think that I've retained a semblance of a scientific mind. So, where to start? I can in a...

Brianca on Schneier - brianca. July 7th, 2008. 02:14 pm - Brianca on Schneier. Bruce Schneier is a lot like Janeane Garofalo. Bear with me here for a second. I LOVE Janeane Garofalo. In fact until very recently, she was number one on my list of what I call 50/50 women. That is women who I know only through their celebrity and therefore my mental image of them is made up of 50% real information and 50% my imagination filling in the gaps between their public persona and who they really are. In her activist...

Free market - brianca. August 1st, 2005. 12:04 pm - free market. Can anyone suggest some reading on how to maintain a free market economy in the face of what can be considered unfair competition from foreign players? I'm a pretty political creature, and I've been putting together my platform as an exercise to formalize where I stand on many issues that we face in the world these days. It's a purely politics geek exercise to see what my ideal party would believe. Hello Again - Dave Matthews Band. 2) The W...

Roadtrip through the US south east - Jeff's LiveJournal
http://bovineone.livejournal.com/19605.html
Till the cows come home. Roadtrip through the US south east. This past Sunday I arrived back in Austin from a 2-week roadtrip that I spontaneously decided to take. My goal was to visit interesting places that I had never seen before. In total I drove about 4500 miles in my Jeep Wrangler (and 18 tanks of gas). I got to meet up with Mike Woss (ex-coworker), Lucent (first IRL meeting with long-time d.net buddy), Mary Bass (coworker), and Rey/Swiggy (ex-coworker). My photo gallery of my trip photos. Visit ho...
