The Lumpkins: December 2008

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." - I Thessalonians 5:16-18. Tuesday, December 9, 2008. I was reading my Bible a couple of mornings ago, when Benjamin jumped on my bed and screamed, "Ahoy, I'm a naked pirate." And he certainly was. Aside from a small bandana tied around his "tail", a pirate hat, and a sword, he was naked. I laughed out loud. . Posted by This High Calling. Tuesday, December 2, 2008. Fostering A Rescue Dog.

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." - I Thessalonians 5:16-18. Saturday, May 9, 2009. I Love Being a Mommy Because. 1 Caleb cried when I read Aslan died last night. "Mommy, you have to read one more page. I know this can't be the end.". 2 It's a gift, not a right. 3 I'm wiping the bottoms of those who will wipe my grandchildren. 4 Daniel falls asleep on my shoulder every time I sing "Come Thou Fount.". 19 I'm desperate for...

Nathan's Notes: A goodbye party
http://nelwood.blogspot.com/2010/05/goodbye-party.html
Thursday, May 13, 2010. It was a fitting way to begin saying goodbye to these kids, as football has been a big part of my time here. Food, football, and laughter - all things that I have loved sharing with them in my time here. Goodbyes can be so hard and so good too. I hope you have a good transition out. May 14, 2010 at 6:10 AM. Im just now reading this, and thinking how much fun that must have been! July 20, 2010 at 5:46 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Nathan's Notes: The National Tournament, part 1
http://nelwood.blogspot.com/2010/05/national-tournament-part-1.html
Wednesday, May 5, 2010. The National Tournament, part 1. I'm back in Bundibugyo after 8 days in Masaka for the national secondary school football tournament with the Christ School boys. It was an experience to remember, without doubt. A week of contrasts; smiles and frowns, excitement and discouragement, sun and rain, joyful celebrations and maddening frustrations. I’ll put some pictures here, but the best ones will be those that Scott took, which I’ll post later. May 8, 2010 at 1:53 PM.

Nathan's Notes: February 2010
http://nelwood.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 26, 2010. I don't have one! But I can't tell them that. Some jocular titles that I've considered for myself here flashed through my mind - assistant bean counter, head of vermin control, nondescript duties officer - but in the end I stammered out something about being a nutrition worker with World Harvest. Sunday, February 21, 2010. What is going on here? Several interesting, frustrating, surprising cultural experiences in the the last couple of days. Monday, February 8, 2010. Lessons in...
