Brad and Amy's Blog. Just a pair of siblings with paragangliomas. Back to the NIH for follow-up testing. October 30, 2013. I am heading back to the NIH this Saturday, Nov. 2, for the next round of testing and follow-ups. My schedule is as follows:. Fly to DC on Saturday, take the metro to the NIH, and check in at the lodge. Sunday morning – full blood workup, and get the big red 24-hour urine jug to fill. Monday morning – head/neck MRI. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers – my speech/facial stuff has improved a ton and continues to do so every day! Brad and Amy's Blog. Just a pair of siblings with paragangliomas. We both went back to NIH in August 2012 to have one of our tumors resected. Surgery went well and besides a few minor bumps for each of us, we recovered quite well. The tumor on my other side was removed the next August, 2013.
