Lauraceae Juss. - Cassytha. Called love-vine in the Bahamas) bears an uncanny resemblance to dodder (the genus Cuscuta. But is not related to it at all! Is in Lauraceae, the same family as Sassafras. Avocado, and cinnamon whereas dodder is in Convolvulaceae and is related to morning-glory vines. If one looks closely at the flowers, love-vine is quite clearly a member of Lauraceae. Habit of plant parasitic on Cliffortia cuneata. Habit, clambering over the beach strand vegetation, Andros Island, Bahamas.

Is a rare gymnosperm of the family Podocarpaceae. It is found only in New Caledonia where it occurs in remote, densely forested areas. It was first discovered and described by Vieillard (1861). Is a woody shrub or small tree, up to 1.5 m in height, with fleshy deep wine red to purple scale leaves. The plant lacks roots and is always found attached to the roots of Falcatifolium taxoides.
