Isle of Man Parish Walk

Isle of Man Parish Walk. Monday, 25 June 2007. Bruised, battered and blistered.but not beaten! Well, that's it for another year, I can't believe it's all over. Look at me there just before Braddan Bridge, don't I look fresh! I really enjoyed the day out and the atmosphere throughout the race was sensational - it really spurs you on when people are shouting for you. Personal highlights for me were :-. Things not so good were :-. 2/ The drag from Jurby to Bride - it was endless! I would also thank to thank ...

Isle of Man Parish Walk: Turning into Howard Hughes

http://parishwalk.blogspot.com/2007/06/turning-into-howard-hughes.html

Isle of Man Parish Walk. Tuesday, 19 June 2007. Turning into Howard Hughes. I am so buzzed up for the race now and am writing this update at 5am - I can't sleep. I just wish Saturday would come so I can calm down! Anxiety has been manifesting itself into amusing dreams - I have a recurring nightmare where I have missed the start while my wife Kerry dreamt she ran out of bread making sandwiches! I will be lucky enough to be off work from Thursday onwards and will be glad of the rest - June is our busiest ...

Isle of Man Parish Walk: February 2007

http://parishwalk.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html

Isle of Man Parish Walk. Wednesday, 28 February 2007. I have started to increase mileage over the past week and have been on five walks of at least 8 miles in that period. I do not have any trouble at all in motivating myself to hit the road whatever the weather - however I am grateful to Mark H and Mike G who joined me on 3 occasions and were willing to go at my much slower pace! Anticipation is building up with each passing week and it was good to see the current list of entrants on the Parish Walk sit...

Isle of Man Parish Walk: What to eat ?

http://parishwalk.blogspot.com/2007/05/what-to-eat.html

Isle of Man Parish Walk. Monday, 14 May 2007. The 15 mile walk this morning was also an eye-opener due to the weather. It started out cloudy, yet by halfway myself and Mark H were in blazing sunshine. Nothing can be taken for granted with the island's climate and both of us voiced great concerns, and a complete change of game-plan, if we have a hot one. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Isle of Man Parish Walk: Doubts and fears...

http://parishwalk.blogspot.com/2007/05/doubts-and-fears.html

Isle of Man Parish Walk. Saturday, 26 May 2007. Then, due to the fact I missed out on a Champions League Final ticket in the ballot, I decided to punish myself with 2 laps of my Sloc - Colby- Rushen Church route on the day of the match ( 23 miles in total). This is a killer of a walk, especially if you don't carry enough liquid! I ran out of fluid with 4 miles still to go which wasn't the best of planning. All I had left were dextrose tablets which made me even more thirsty! Well it amuses me, ok! Subscri...

Parish Walk 2009

Sunday, 21 June 2009. I'm quite sad that this will be my last post on the blog now that the Parish is all over for another year. :(. Firstly I hope that you all had a good time yesterday whether you were walking, marshalling, supporting or just watching. A big well done to everyone involved! It was fantastic and really epitomises the community spirit of the event, which I think is one of the reasons that makes the Parish so special. Finally then, some thank-yous. I'm indebted to many many people who ...

The parishwalk.com blog

The parishwalk.com blog. Thursday, 23 June 2011. I'm off work now until next Wednesday and plan to "relax" by taking an interest in this Parish Walk thingy that is going on. So I'm not staying online late tonight as I am going to do my "Saturday" run tomorrow before spending most of the rest of the day preparing my coverage of the event - I have a whole new front page to set up apart from anything else. PS I'm back already to say that there have been 1052 visitors to the site already today. I'll try not ...
