I'm not exactly sure what the '29' refers to, but here we're looking at the edge of the Hôtel de Ville. And something I'd never noticed before: the crystal clear marks of ammunition or shrapnel impact. The sombre streaking at the bottom of the shot is inexplicable, if pleasing, looking like some of the jet black spikes in the sobring memorial to the holocaust on the tip of Ile de la Cité.
