Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Sam and I have been making more progress on getting some quality time. This past weekend, we got our snuggles in on Saturday before I took a field trip with big brother. Sunday, January 4, 2015. I asked Sam, what was 1 thing he wanted to do over Christmas Vacation? He told me, go to Orange Leaf. So Sam and I went. And I told Sam he could sit anywhere, and choose whatever he wanted, just not to go overboard. And he chose chocolate and pineapple, and topped it with weird things that don't have red 40. And then when I went to sit next to him, he asked me to go sit over there, he wanted his own Big Kids Table. Really? And I won't be sad about it. Can't Take the Sky From Me.

Wednesday, May 28, 2014. I can't recall for how long Sam has called the little red babybel cheeses, "red cheese",because of the red wax that covers these happy cheese snacks. Maybe 2 years? Whenever he wants a cheese snack, I have to ask him what kind? He will reply "Red cheese" for a Babybel, or "Square cheese" for a slice of American. This morning he asked for a "Babybel". Monday, June 30, 2014. He asked. Did my Mom invite you? Still, even though they weren't as close friends at the beginning, they found what made them friends, and got along well enough to play. They played so well, I had to drag Sam away, not kicking and screaming, but he was having a great time. That did my heart some good. Wednesday, April 30, 2014. The Science Class Field Trip. We still had our picnic lunch on the floor. Jacob sat with me, and ate yogurt melts and puffs and Sam ate his pack lunch. I was the only grownup at the table full of Sam's classmates. That was a little crazy, but they were so excited. And they got the biggest kick out of Jacob. Saturday, February 7, 2015. I get the feeling sometimes that Sam gets left out. He gets the fuzzy end of the lollipop sometimes. He gets lumped in a lot with another brother. He gets stuffed with Chris when I'm dealing with Jake, or vice versa. I've been trying to make a more conscious effort to just spend time with him. But sometimes he just wants to be alone. Saturday, March 29, 2014. Happy Birthday Big Boy. Well, it's Official Now. Sam is 5. He's a 5 year old. I mean really, he's a big boy. I shouldn't call him my baby, but I think I Always will. It's hard to believe he's a 5 year old now, and he'll be starting kindergarten. Then driving. Ugh! One step at a time. I know this is a big post, but 5 is a Big Age.
