the oliver chronicles: July 2008
http://babyarkin.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 5, 2008. Oliver has been spending his last three Saturdays at the El Cerrito pool, enjoying the "parent and tot" class with his parents. It's great fun splashing around with mom and dad in something larger than the bath tub. But relaxing poolside does not always equate to letting one's hair down: the sunscreen on Oliver's head is the ultimate product, and the resulting mohawk is the envy of the diaper set. Pre-class and slicked up. He thinks he looks pretty funny, too. And on he grows.

Wednesday, January 7, 2009. We took a break from work and spent a long weekend in Guernville. Oliver liked looking up at the giant redwood trees in nearby Armstrong Woods. He also enjoyed tromping around Fort Ross, a Russian settlement on the coast from the early 1800s. Oliver explores Armstrong Woods. Rebecca, Jeff, and Oliver. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Tuesday, August 25, 2009. Anyway, Tamil Nadu has comparatively good health statistics in relation to other Indian states. The total fertility rate (number of children a woman will have in her lifetime, on average) is below 2 (the “replacement level” for a parent couple), and very young childbearing is uncommon. However I was shocked when I came across a figure like this one. Source: International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) and Macro International. 2008. Sunday, August 23, 2009. In Uganda I ...

Apparently mango season is over, so we've moved on to enjoying beautiful pomegranates! Saturday, July 25, 2009. Friday, July 24, 2009. I had the pleasure of meeting Erik and Ryan's friends David and Lika yesterday. They'll be here in Chennai for two years and - lucky me - their apartment is less than a kilometer from my house! Thursday, July 31, 2008. The movers came today to pack everything up. We got good news at the last minute that everything will go by air –so I won't have to wait another 5 months like the sea shipment here took! Only problem is my things may arrive before we have an apartment. If you have any leads on a good place in. Preferably on the 2 line), let us know! Wednesday, July 30, 2008. Last minute shopping is underway, since the movers come to pack up the house tomorrow. We headed down to. I've been avoidin...

Wednesday, October 20, 2010. We recently met up with good friends Peter, Anne, and Sydney to pick the last of the season's apple crop in Graton. Oliver decided to dress like a 1930s newsboy for the occasion. Much fun was had by all, and Jeff's been turning out terrific apple crisps ever since. Yum! Rebecca, Jeff, and Oliver.
