Tuesday, January 8, 2013. Adventures in Motherhood - Two is More Than One. So it's been about 3 months since I last posted. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of blogging but I seriously have been. Top 10 of Having 2. 1 You have to play man-to-man defense. Gone are the good old days when you can defer to dad when your munchkin gets snotty. Dad's hands are already full with the other one. 2 Going any where by yourself is a thing of the past. 5 Your older child is suddenly so big. 8 You feel most proud as...

Wednesday, March 21, 2012. 1st Birthday on a Budget Part 1. I realize that this post is more than 3 months overdue but hey a lot has transpired. We moved, Husband got a new job, I got a new job, Bear had a birthday, and we're expecting again. So there is a little slack to be cut. I started mapping this out and discovered that it was way to long for one post so I'll break it down into two. Part 1: Planning/Prep and Part 2: Party. Step 1: The Theme/Decor (Free). I also borrowed some decorations from the Be...

Homespun Heathcotes: May 2012

Wednesday, May 30, 2012. 1st Birthday on a Budget: Part 2. Wow, I am really bad at this blogging thing! But hey, working and raising a family is hard work and let's face it, blogging isn't exactly top priority. That said, here's the rest of the Bear's 1st birthday. Step 3: Pick a Menu ($30) and Make a Cake ($8). When it came to the cake, I tried to be ambitious and make one from scratch. Who knew that cake is next to impossible to get out of a custom cake pan without cake release? Step 4: Favors ($7).

You now (usually) take two naps a day - a short one in the late morning, and another longer one later in the afternoon. You finally go to bed at 7:30 without tears. We've even (since your 11th month birthday), transitioned you to your own crib! You sit like this a lot! Always sitting like this.ready for action! Black beans that mom made are your favorite food. Chaff and Grain: more on Audy's Ears
http://siftingchaffandgrain.blogspot.com/2014/05/more-on-audys-ears.html
Tuesday, May 6, 2014. More on Audy's Ears. So it's been a while. Since his tubes, we've seen an audiologist every 6 months for hearing tests. Usually they were very vague, without any definite results. But in the middle of April, Audy was finally old enough to really show which sounds he could and couldn't hear. As a mom sitting behind him in the booth, I could tell that he wasn't hearing certain sounds. And so, we are moving forward with hearing aids. Making New Friends on his first day. We've had the h...

The ballerina outfits grandma got them were a HUGE hit! They did not want to ever take them off. :). Christmas at the Budke's. My dad holding Audrey. She is such a joy! Mike and S...

Bob and Glenda Update: July 2010
http://bobandglendaupdate.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 5, 2010. Tracy, Alan and Paige came down and spent a long weekend with us. We were so happy to see them. Paige grew up so much in the two months that we were in Juneau. Paige loved being outside and we had pretty nice weather. The flowers in the yard are looking beautiful. She looks like a little Amish girl in her little bonnet that I made her. Yeah, I'm one, well one and a half really! Tracy is careful to keep a hat and sunscreen on Paige because she has the skin of a little red hed!

Thursday, September 8, 2011. A Hot Day in Ferndale. Today it was a beautiful hot day in Ferndale. Temps are in the low 80's. We took Paige over to a fountain in downtown Ferndale where the kids play. She watched some other little kids get wet before she joined in the fun! Papa helps her get wet! We love living close and being able to spend time with our grandchildren. We will be headed to Oklahoma soon for some time with Hannah and Nathan. Being a grandparent is the greatest! Bob and Glenda Update.
