Monday, February 4, 2013. The Barnacle Historic State Park. Better yet, visit the place! Here are some pictures:. The Barnacle and its great lawn. Ralph Munroe was a true commodore, and one of the founders of the Biscayne Bay Yacht Club. Christmas time at the Barnacle. Not all the appliances date back to the building of the house, but they are still dated. Built on a hill, the house actually came with it's own small cellar, for herbs I believe. Family dinner at the Munroe's. A chair fit for a king.

Sunday, April 24, 2011. Margaret Pace Park is the first park I visited for the purpose of this blog. I had been to it only once before, to play tennis with some friends who live in the neighborhood. It is a City of Miami park that is located at 1775 N. Bayshore Drive, in the area commonly called Omni, over the by the Adrienne Arsht Center. Thursday, August 30, 2012. August in Miami. It is hot, it is humid, it is truly tropical. Where can you escape the heat but still enjoy the outdoors? The best answer might lie along the eastern edge of Miami, in Matheson Hammock Park. Here, the sea breeze cools you with its gentle yet constant presence, and the mugginess melts away. Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Since the park is bordered by water, aquatic activities are the norm here. Kayak launches, rowing, and jet skis are all good ideas for fun at Holland Park. There is also a boat launch area, and a nature walk/wooden boardwalk around the edges of the park that are next to the water. There are spiders and birds and other animals all along the walk.
