Room 16: ANZAC Week

Wednesday, 29 April 2015. Last week, our school commemorated ANZAC's 100th year of the Gallipoli landing in World War 1. We went into our House Groups and did an Anzac activity. We made poppies from different materials, ANZAC cookies, soldiers, ANZAC jars, medals, drawings with splint pins, magnets, potato printing, wrote letters, music, periscope, marching and war activities on the computer. We went to the Domain with our buddy class, Room 27. Please visit our class to read these wonderful poems!

Learning Zone Number 14. Saturday, 18 July 2015. Tuesday, 23 June 2015. Wednesday, 17 June 2015. Room 14 has been studying tales and traditions associated with Matariki- the Maori New Year. Matariki is the Māori name for the star cluster known as the Pleiades. This festival celebrates the rise of the Matariki constellation, signifies the start of Māori New Year and begins 20 June with a Dawn Karakia on Maungakiekie (One Tree Hill). The festival runs until 19 July. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in Te Reo.
