Monday, 30 July 2012. Poetry has been our recent writing focus, and there are indeed poets amongst Room 5. Writing "Cats, Cats, Cats". We drew our cat, or our friends cat". One day my friend came to my house and my Mum said we can cut some fruit. I said "Yes" so I cut a big bit for me and a little bit for my friend and my friend said "that's not fair." Friday, 7 September 2012. Today is Harrison's Birthday and his kind Grandma got up early this morning and baked 19 cupcakes for the children in Room 5! They were delicious and here is what the children said in their storywriting today:-. They were sweet, delicious, scrumptious and I had yellow icing on mine, and Harrison did too.". Friday, 7 August 2015. Friday, 24 July 2015. The Kangas group read a book about pancakes, so we made some. Here is Faris beating the egg. Max added the sugar. We all stirred the BATTER. We needed a few ingredients and utensils before we could get started. Here are the things we used. We like pancakes, especially when they have Golden Syrup on them! The new compost bins. Wednesday, 5 August 2015. Diary dates for year 1 syndicate in term 3. Book week is during week 8 7th September to 11th September. Monday 7th September is a Book parade first thing in the morning and we encourage children to come dressed as their favourite mythical character. Week 9 17th September is our Trip to Stardome Observatory. Inquiry focus is Challenge and we are looking at Science this term. We are going to investigate the importance of the sun and the moon and the effects of them on our world.

Friday, 14 August 2015. Recently in Room 8 we have been having lots of Birthdays. Wednesday, 5 August 2015. 100 days at school 2015. On Friday R8 celebrated 100 days of school. We used the 100 abacus to help calculate how many more pieces we needed to glue on. It took us a long time to glue on 100 pieces but we did not give up. Wednesday, 6 August 2014. The Great Dragon Challenge. On Tuesday Room 8 participated in the Great Dragon Challenge. The children learnt many new crafts and skills.

Monday, 17 August 2015. Week 3 in Room 9. We have been busy doing lots of Numeracy this week. Fabio, Luella and Ayumi are doing a written activity. Natalie and Kevin are playing Match it Up.
