https://njoutdoors.wordpress.com/2011/09/28/tom-reed-breaks-nj-big-year-record

This is already 6 more than the previous record, set in 2002, but only 1 more than the number currently seen by another 2011 lister. That means Tom has to keep searching for the next three months – the competition doesn’t end until the clock strikes midnight on December 31st. Tom and the author, Bill Lynch, birding in early January. Follow “N...

Runs on (Mostly) Plants. Musings on Food and Fitness. Monday, July 12, 2010. It's been a while since I have enjoyed a meal this simple and this delicious. All thanks to a beautiful bunch of beets from my trip to the farmer's market this past weekend! Lo and behold, there I found a raw beet recipe. So tonight, I went ahead and tried out the Grated Raw Beet Salad. I could have just eaten this for dinner, but I figured I ought to control myself and finish the recipe. I couldn't let the beet greens go to was...

New Jersey Outdoors: January 2010
http://newjerseyoutdoors.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 21, 2010. Soaking in the first bit of morning light, we started down the Saw Mill Creek Path from Disposal Road. It wasn't long before we heard an odd sound coming from just up ahead. Soon enough we located the silhouette of a bird perched on one of the high tension wire bases. As it turned its head, we could make out the hooked beak and knew it was going to be a good morning. As we continued walking more and more duck species started popping up. Northern Shoveler and Green-Winged T...
