Visit to Asmita – Dry Creek Charity
https://drycreekcharity.wordpress.com/2016/09/18/visit-to-asmita
A closer look at our most recent projects. Last week I had the pleasure of visiting the Asmita school for mentally challenged children. Asmita provides education, housing, food and community to 84 Mentally disabled students ranging from 6 to 22 years old. Of the 84 students, 74 are from underprivileged communities and would likely not be allowed to have any sort of education were it not for the Asmita school. September 18, 2016. September 18, 2016. https://drycreekcharity.wordpress.com/2016/07/19/one-month-mark
A closer look at our most recent projects. Our team at the profit-sharing event. On Friday our team, including 60 or so of the Paryavaran Mitra women, visited ESI. Ben sharing his insights about sanitation. Paryavaran Mitra sisters enjoying Jayeshai’s presentation. On Saturday we made a breakthrough with the planters as we began selling them in an online store. There is a lot going on with our project, from working with the schools, to selling planter bottles, to working with and empowering the women....

Week 7 – Dry Creek Charity
https://drycreekcharity.wordpress.com/2016/08/10/week-7
A closer look at our most recent projects. Despite both Ben and I getting sick, we had quite a fun week. We gave two more presentations on Monday and Tuesday. Like Ben said last week, it’s a lot of fun to hear the kids’ thoughts about recycling and helping the rag-picking women. They have such a raw sense of excitement and resolve to make a difference. Before the French volunteers left, we had one last night with the Manav Sadhna family (staff and current volunteers) at Seva Café. August 10, 2016. Addres...

Dry Creek Charity – Page 2 – a closer look at our most recent projects
https://drycreekcharity.wordpress.com/page/2
A closer look at our most recent projects. The monsoons have finally begun which means cooler days but more mosquitoes, yikes. Fortunately, despite a minor mix up of my toothpaste and mosquito repellant, we haven’t had any problems so far. Early this week we had the day off and attended a parade in the Old City to celebrate Rath Yatra. Parade through the Old City. Children at the blind school listening to music played by their classmates. Sitting with some of the women at Saturday Special. July 14, 2016.

Fresh Start – Dry Creek Charity
https://drycreekcharity.wordpress.com/2016/07/27/fresh-start/comment-page-1
A closer look at our most recent projects. Manav Sadhna’s projects tend to develop organically. Virenbhai has noticed the need of these children for a community space, and it seems to make sense for this to be something that Ben and I undertake over the remainder of our time here. We can’t wait to see where it goes! Child (whose name escapes me) playing at the center where the new classrooms will be built. Photo from our retreat. Women at Sarkhej Roza (a mosque we visited this week). July 27, 2016.
