What is a CSA? Monroe Organic Farms CSA provides the freshest, tastiest, and most nutritious fruits and vegetables this side of the Rockies! We believe in taking care of our soil. We work hard to make sure our soils do not get depleted of vital nutrients. We rotate crops within our fields. Every four or five years, we rotate entire vegetable fields into alfalfa (also known as a cover crop or green manure) allowing the soil to rebuild and regenerate. It’s tough on the humans, but wonderful for the slow growing crops due to the cool spring and summer. This means that your bags will have wilted produce. You may need to give your produce a cold water bath. Because the produce is so fresh, it will hydrate within a few hours to overnight. Don’t forget!
