Back to the Cradle: Travelphilia
http://passthekimchi.blogspot.com/2008/05/travelphilia.html
Back to the Cradle. I have a condition where I simply can't stay in one place too long. My feet get itchy, my eyes roam, and my mind wanders to other places. Seriously, I am always planning the next big trip (road trip to Mexico, Tam! Or thinking of where I want to go next (Belize). I have a top ten list of places to visit. I love travel. Doesn't matter where it is, as long as I am moving and seeing new things. So for my birthday I asked for travel! Wowzers. looks awesome! So glad that you guys had fun.
Back to the Cradle: Summer of BBQ
http://passthekimchi.blogspot.com/2008/06/summer-of-bbq.html
Back to the Cradle. I declare the summer of 2008 the Summer of BBQ! The last couple of summer we haven't been around to take advantage of long sunny evenings, a deck and a BBQ so now. we're going to! We've got a great big deck, a BBQ, and lots of recipes to try. I planked again, this time for my mom. Guess this whole baby thing is for real. Otherwise, life is moving on. Kinda weird to be in the grind and yet still feeling in limbo until we properly move and unpack everything. Be good to get every...Glad ...
Back to the Cradle: Moved!
http://passthekimchi.blogspot.com/2008/07/moved.html
Back to the Cradle. No we're not all moved into our new digs yet but, I am moving my blog away from passthekimchi.blogspot.com. This one was built for our travels and, as the address suggests, was a little too place specific. For Ethiopia I kept the URL but changed the name. Now it's time to simply move and start over, something a little more inclusive of all the pots my fingers are in. So come see the new blog at http:/ ericswanderings.blogspot.com/. My e-mail address is smpkmj69@naver.com. I am a happi...
Back to the Cradle: Africa Reads
http://passthekimchi.blogspot.com/2008/06/africa-reads.html
Back to the Cradle. I've been reading alot of books about Africa lately, I think on last count about 12 in the past 3 months or so. I know not everyone has my great fascination with the Dark Continent but here are a few reads I highly reccomend for those with an interest in Africa or in a good read. Ok, so the 750 pages might seem a little intimidating at first but they fly by. "The Fate of Africa". Stephanie Nolen's "28: Stories of AIDS in Africa". A Canadian journalist gives stories and faces to th...

http://passthekimchi.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Back to the Cradle. Hey there Blogger world, we're finally here for a much needed update. Due to a tropical virus our computer was down for some time and we were unable to post. But now it's all good. So I thought I would share some pictures of my school and my kids. Enjoy! My Grade 4 class which is my absolute favorite. 24 kids who for the most part love to engage and think the world of me. We have a lot of fun. I see them about 7 periods a week. Or "Is it ok for a Muslim to marry a Christian? This is H...

Friday, February 29, 2008. The day has finally come. I fly out in 10 hours, 8 minutes, and 32 seconds. I have been in Vancouver. For the past couple days and have been able to spend a wee bit of time with my beautiful sister (not near as much as i would like though). If you know me, you know that i don't particularly like Vancouver. I think i used the word "hate". But my mother taught me better than that. However, i feel like i am warming up to it a bit. i mostly disliked Vancouver. Well, almost.). Into ...

http://sound-familiar.blogspot.com/2008/02/disrupted.html
Friday, February 08, 2008. I didn't realize how far gone i was . . . But really, since living on my own, i have completely gotten stuck in my own routines - stubborn in my own ways. Aren't i too young for this! 3 of my roommates from capernwray have come to stay at my house for the weekend . . . which i know is going to be a blast. i love them to pieces. right now, we sit sprawled out in my kitchen, eating the leftovers of last nights pizza and singing out of tune. L O R I . . . If you do not stand firm.
AJ Renton: Comin' to You Live: January 2011
http://ajrenton.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
AJ Renton: Comin' to You Live. Monday, January 17, 2011. Leilani got some new fishies (that's what she calls them) and a tank for Christmas this year. Being an animal lover, I relish the opportunity to foster this same love in her. And she has it. She loves sitting and watching them do their thing, feeding them, and talking to them. But even being a little kid, she can teach me something about perspective. So after examining our hearts, and realizing there was no saving this tetra, Leilani said she wante...
AJ Renton: Comin' to You Live: What To Do?
http://ajrenton.blogspot.com/2009/02/what-to-do.html
AJ Renton: Comin' to You Live. Monday, February 23, 2009. I graduated from my undergrad in 2003. I immediately applied at Acts Seminary at Trinity Western University and began a Masters of Arts in Christian Studies there. After one course (Intro to NT Greek - B ), and learning that Masters courses I was beginning in Victoria were transferable to Regent College. So, that's where I've been, and lately I've been trying to figure out where to go now. I have looked at various options over the years, and h...

Wanderings: Toronto Island
http://ericswanderings.blogspot.com/2010/06/toronto-island.html
Not everyone who wanders is lost. -J.R.R. Tolkien. Sunday, June 20, 2010. I'm a little behind on posting this but about a month ago we headed over to Toronto Island for the day with some friends of ours, taking advantage of some smoking warm weather. A short ferry ride later we were picnicking like we were at some secluded park instead of in the city. It's a beautiful spot with a great vantage of the city, a quick reprieve from big city life. It was a nice day full of friends. June 21, 2010 at 1:25 AM.
Wanderings: "Can Daija come out and play?"
http://ericswanderings.blogspot.com/2010/06/can-daija-come-out-and-play.html
Not everyone who wanders is lost. -J.R.R. Tolkien. Sunday, June 6, 2010. Can Daija come out and play? This weekend I was home alone with Daija as Nolana was away for the weekend at a ladies retreat. Saturday evening as I was preparing dinner, I heard the doorbell ring. Daija freaked out (she has a thing for doorbells.) and I wondered who in the world it could be; I wasn't expecting anyone. Must be a salesman or someone looking for donations I thought. June 6, 2010 at 4:12 PM. June 7, 2010 at 2:15 PM.
Wanderings: June 2009
http://ericswanderings.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Not everyone who wanders is lost. -J.R.R. Tolkien. Saturday, June 27, 2009. Moving is Never Boring. We've survived the heat. Didn't think we were going to when we woke up the next morning and at 9:00 am the Humidex was reading 38 degrees already! But that afternoon all the humidity brought a thunder/rain storm that cleared the air and has brought temps back to a reasonable 25-30ish. Feels great. She also has started moving like crazy even in her sleep, resulting in some odd contortions. Lastly, and perha...
