Pastor Greg's Blog: March 2008
http://pastorgregshaw.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Being a Christian in the world today. Monday, March 31, 2008. After Easter - then what? Taking a break from the "Choices for Lent" series, I want to invite us all to reflect on what comes after Easter. The death and resurrection of Jesus was the awesomely loving response of God to his erring children, we have renewed life because Jesus removed all barriers to God at the moment the 'veil of the temple was rent asunder! Jesus said quite emphatically, 'As the Father sent me, so I send you! I am convinced th...

Being a Christian in the world today. Wednesday, April 23, 2008. Choices of Lent #3 "Choosing Fun Over Drudgery". Everyone would rather have fun than drudgery! However when you look around today most people are not having much fun, sadly unless they are high or drunk! Even sadder is the fact that most Christ followers are not seen as fun people either! In fact I grew up believing that anything fun, joyful or celebratory had no place in the life of the believer, we were serious and humble before the Lord!

Being a Christian in the world today. Wednesday, May 28, 2008. A Plea for Face to Face Contact. You've probably gathered by now that this blogging thing is fairly new to me, in fact I learned just today that blog is short for 'weblog'! It is a little odd for me to be typing in these messages and then wondering if anyone reads them or thinks about responding. More than 50 have checked out at least one of my messages, but I don't know who or where they are! And NY152 develop quite a friendship through emai...

Being a Christian in the world today. Tuesday, October 28, 2008. The Ups and Downs of a Fall! Recently, as I was contemplating my navel about the approach of Fall (or as we call it down under:autumn); I started to think about what I liked and will miss in Fall 2008. Things like slightly cooler (it is Florida! Weather (but I love summer); the end of hurricane season (but we need more rain); the leaves put on a color festival (but then they drop! The growth of the garden slows (but the pruning begins!
Pastor Greg's Blog: Advertising Ignorance
http://pastorgregshaw.blogspot.com/2008/12/advertising-ignorance.html
Being a Christian in the world today. Monday, December 8, 2008. I am writing this from deep in the middle of Advent, a season I both love and need, because it heralds the coming of Christmas and the birth of Jesus was the best thing, ever! Of course, not everyone agrees with me! One of the first aberrations I read about was the British humanists campaign to advertise on the sides of buses their philosophy: 'there is no God, just be good for goodness sake! And God is often the target of their diatribes!

Sunday, January 29, 2017. 14 Days of Prayer - Day 14. Read the following passage from a Trappist Monk reflecting on the transformation that can happen when we spend time in God’s presence and how important we are as individuals loved by our creator who are being invited everyday to participate in an active relationship with Jesus as he shows us his plans for our lives:. Our challenge is to unmask the Divine in the natural and name the presence of God in our lives. Pastor Gregory's prayer for you:. Presen...

Being a Christian in the world today. Monday, January 23, 2012. Reflections on Christmas 2. Leave the light(s) on! For me one of the most beautiful sights during the Christmas season here is the Christmas lights! There is so much darkness in people's hearts, Christmas is the time to turn on the light of Jesus in your heart as you turn on lights in the darkness - so "people in darkness will see a great light"-in you! Links to this post. Tuesday, January 10, 2012. The same applies to Jesus, God's beautiful...
Not Great
Thursday, November 15, 2007. Have we lost the child like anticipation? Have you ever opened a Christmas gift early and rewrapped it? I love surprises now, especially when it is a great gift. However, when I was younger I wasn’t nearly as patient. I struggled with the anticipation of the unknown gift. Well, one time when I was in grade school, my brother and I couldn’t handle the 14 day. We were caught in the act and forced to rewrap the gifts. Know much. They also didn’t know when Christmas was...A child...

...and The Life
8230;and The Life. Follow Me, Revisited. September 9, 2014. Matthew 18:21-35; 25:31-46; 26:17-30. This concept of Follow Me on which I have previously written. Continues to reverberate in my mind and to dwell in my soul. This week I had a flashback to the 70’s of my youth when the strains of Day by Day began playing soulfully in my head. The key phrase in the chorus goes like this:. May I know Thee more clearly,. Love Thee more dearly,. Follow Thee more nearly. FOLLOW ME (John 1:43-51). January 16, 2012.
