Pat and Sari's Honeymoon Bike Ride. Saturday, August 30, 2008 - Rest Day in West Lafayette, IN. Rest day #2 - we finally put the finishing touches on the last 720-mile sprint for home. Our expected arrival date is now Sunday, 9/14. We added a couple of days to make it easier to take the little bumps in the road we expect to find in western PA (aka the Allegheny Mountains). The llamas in their shelter. A raccoon caught stealing the cats' food. Franklin, a male llama. Janet, Amanda, Emily, and David.

Our welcoming committee took lots of pictures of our arrival, which we will upload when we receive them. We'll also put up an epilogue to our journey in a few days when we've had time to sort out our thoughts - stay tuned! Emily and Pat, who's still a little sleepy, as we leave Emily's place. A little building labelled War Bond Headquarters (? Western Reserve building - don't know if this is related to the university. SR 18 - a 5-lane road with rush hour traffic and threatening clouds. A Rinky Dink (no kidding) with mini-golf, batting and go-carts. A small farm outside of Medina. The main post office.
