For me, this Christmas gave me just a little more understanding into what it means to live here, and how lucky I am to have so many wonderful people in my life both here, and back home. I just got back from my second full ´rol´, or 5 days off between 15 day work weeks. This time I headed up into the Bader valley behind the Horns with some other guides. The next morning it was a quick hour or so before I hit the main trail and continued on to Perros Camp. The trouble with bushwhacking, however, is that you never know exactly how long it will take and it's much much slower and more work than traveling by trail. I made Perros camp around noon, however, and continued on towards John Gardner Pass (1200m). Camp at Laguna Martillo.
