COME AWAY WITH US. Tuesday, September 1, 2009. Dragonboat races last week-end which John got to see but I was working. He thoroughly enjoyed it and everyone has a great time, tipping each other out of the boats and sledging each other. The team of teachers from Broome Primary School won out on the day. We are very disappointed as the locals all say this festival is really something worth seeing. At this stage, Broome Council is reassessing its decision to sever ties because of the backlash.

Left this morning for a very long drive to Tibooburra via Packsaddle and Milparinka both very isolated places, just dots on the map. Lots of roadworks on the way so Christine is a real mess. I received positive feedback and had the chance to bring up a few ideas that I had been mulling over. The managers are great and my experience thus far has been very positive. It was really great to have my managers give me such amazing feedback! Ok I lied in all my previous posts – today was the longest day ever. Oy. I actually listened to myself, believe it or not!

Joe was able to visit his daughter Lindsay and her family and brand new baby in Alaska and help her out for a week. He had a great time visiting them and was able to help out by cooking delicious meals, playing with the kids, and crossing off lots of things on Haakon's "honey do" list.
