Patchwork in Paris

Friday, 19 December 2014. I have had a package of scottie appliques for several years and never really had a project in mind for them, so I pulled a couple of red and green ones, fused them to a solid fabric, stitched them down and then blanket-stitched them to felt and voila.little scottie ornaments! Posted by Jennifer Thomas. Wednesday, 19 November 2014. WIP Wednesday - Sam! OK, one last children's book quilt before I move on. For Goodnight Moon. And The Hungry Caterpillar. Patchwork in Paris: WIP Wednesday - Sam!, Ham!

http://www.patchworkinparis.com/2014/11/wip-wednesday-sam-ham.html

Wednesday, 19 November 2014. WIP Wednesday - Sam! OK, one last children's book quilt before I move on. For Goodnight Moon. And The Hungry Caterpillar. I used only matching fabric the storybook's line. With Green Eggs and Ham. I decided to make something a bit more creative and original. I cut up a panel and added borders to the pages with non-coordinating fabrics from my stash. I am also planning to add non- Green Eggs and Ham. I am linking up to WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced. Patchwork in Paris: Trick or Treat!

http://www.patchworkinparis.com/2014/11/trick-or-treat.html

Tuesday, 18 November 2014. I finished the bag in time for Halloween but didn't quite manage to post it in time. I was inspired by Monica's tutorial from The Happy Zombie. For small treat totes. Although I followed her instructions for assembly, I made it about twice as wide, three inches (rather than two) deep and taller than wide. These little bags are so so fun and easy to make! Patchwork in Paris: Lots and lots of George - WIP Wednesday

http://www.patchworkinparis.com/2014/07/lots-and-lots-of-george-wip-wednesday.html

Wednesday, 2 July 2014. Lots and lots of George - WIP Wednesday. Massive progress on the Curious George quilt! In the end, I was able to cut 32 Georges from the single Pottery Barn. But once all of the blocks were sewn together, I found that I actually enjoy the varied width of the strips, as they break up the monotony of all the solids. All pinned and ready to quilt! And also the opening for the foot needs to be a bit bigger to accommodate my son's chubby feet. He does seem to enjoy trying to stuff ...

Patchwork in Paris: Toy baskets

http://www.patchworkinparis.com/2014/11/toy-baskets.html

Tuesday, 18 November 2014. I love, love, love these little fabric toy buckets. From See Kate Sew. You can't see in this picture but the lining is the blue crab fabric above. When the bag is sitting on a table flopping open a bit, you can really see the lining, so it's fun to have a cute fabric in there too. Posted by Jennifer Thomas. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Quilted hugs by Sue : January 2015

http://quiltedhugsandothernonsense.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Quilted hugs by Sue. My quilting journey and snippets of family life. Sunday, January 18, 2015. January finish and promise to self. Most years I sign up for at least one, and often two BOM's and they can be quite costly when you work it all out. This year I have decided not to sign up for any. My only diversion to this is a Tilda club that I joined in November, which is a little package of Tilda goodies every two months which also includes a small project. I have also started a couple of quilts using fab...

Quilted hugs by Sue. My quilting journey and snippets of family life. Thursday, July 24, 2014. Gee, I have just realised that I have not blogged in almost a month, where has the time gone. As most of you life is busy these days with lots of Grandies to entertain, a demanding job and planning an overseas holiday. I have still been able to spend some time sewing, and have finished this cute little baby quilt for a friend that is due in November. Well that wraps up July, see you next time, quilted hugs, Sue...

Quilted hugs by Sue : February 2015

http://quiltedhugsandothernonsense.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Quilted hugs by Sue. My quilting journey and snippets of family life. Saturday, February 7, 2015. A mighty finish. ( or 3). This quilt was started in 2012, it was a BOM From the fat quarter shop, so with 12 blocks it took 12 months to make plus the time it took me to add on the borders. I bought the backing fabric, and there is sat in my closet for over a year. My other recent finish is Hazel hedgehog, which you saw pinned ready to quilt in my last post. I loved how this one turned out. I had these flowe...

Quilted hugs by Sue. My quilting journey and snippets of family life. Thursday, October 16, 2014. A little finish and some cuddles. Only just getting back into the swing of sewing after my fabulous holiday and I have completed this little foxy quilt for a friend at work who is about to have her first baby in a few weeks time. Rachael was a bit of a challenge as we do not know if its a little boy or girl, and she only likes neutrals and muted tones - nothing too busy. Links to this post. I started quiltin...

Quilted hugs by Sue. My quilting journey and snippets of family life. Monday, November 17, 2014. I started this teddy wall hanging in November 2012 without any real ambition to work on it with only a bit of stitchery done here and there. On a mission to complete some long term projects this year I took the last few stitchery pieces to Europe with me to do while relaxing. Here it is some where in the middle of the Mediterranean. Quilted hugs by Sue. My quilting journey and snippets of family life. Monday, September 29, 2014. I am writing this post from somewhere way up in the sky two hours or so out of Dubai on our way home from a months holiday In Europe. My DH and I recently celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary, and this holiday was in aid of that milestone. We flew into Venice where we enjoyed three days before a Mediterranean cruise. Next stop was Rome, first we visited the Vatican and imagine our surprise when we got to ...

Quilted hugs by Sue : Hello autumn.

http://quiltedhugsandothernonsense.blogspot.com/2015/04/hello-autumn.html

Quilted hugs by Sue. My quilting journey and snippets of family life. Wednesday, April 8, 2015. My favourite season, I love the chill in the air in the evenings, the blue sunny skies and the cooler nights for sleeping, the falling leaves and Easter. Cooler nights means more sewing time, well for me any how. I love to be snuggled up sewing or knitting while I can hear the rain on my tin roof. So I had to get a big finish done before I could start a new one without guilt. And here it is. Girls Day Out is j...

Patchwork Ink | Fold me like a handkerchief, put me in your pocket.

Fold me like a handkerchief, put me in your pocket. April 18, 2012. Here’s what’s on the brain —. This week I heard that an old friend’s brain cancer is now at stage 4. He’s young. Two little kids. Someone lit a man on fire and left his burning body in a neighborhood in Altadena. I watched footage of Syrian families living in a refuge camp. I read about the Secret Service and their 21 prostitutes. They say you write to figure out what you really think. You write to tell yourself the truth. You know I rea...

Creating fun, and sometimes funky, quilts in BEAUTIFUL Hawaii. Wednesday, October 24, 2012. Nothing like Sewing Summit of course, but still fun. Well, Sewing Summit was almost two weeks ago and I've been wanting to do a little recap of the experience. Truly fantastic. The event was very well organized and so much attention was paid to all the details. I had a great time and look forward to attending again - probably not every year, but perhaps every other year. And me. Craftsy. And I headed out after the...

Patchwork and Craft in Portugal

Patchwork and Craft in Portugal. Friday, September 26, 2014. Summer holidays over for sure! Ann and I started meeting for patchwork. Last week and today Ann worked on her Dresden plate tote bag. The kit came from Cath Kidston-s book. Meanwhile I worked on my three years old jumper. Finally, it is ready for winter. I have to learn how to take selfie. I need more practice which means have to knit more jumpers. Patchwork and Craft in Portugal. Thursday, September 11, 2014. Patchwork and Craft in Portugal.
