One Thread at a Time: January 2014
http://patchworkpenguin.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 25, 2014. Kevin and I will celebrate our 28th anniversary in March. We've never been the type the 'has to have' the new things. the new phone, the new car, the new TV. But now that the kids are all but out of the nest, we decided to take the 'bigger' of the two bedrooms back downstairs and make it ours again. I love it. And I have been waiting patiently for a bed big enough to put my red and white Pineapple Blossom (ala Bonnie Hunter) on to. Have a great day! Saturday, January 25, 2014.
One Thread at a Time: Skype and Sew.....
http://patchworkpenguin.blogspot.com/2014/07/skype-and-sew.html
Friday, July 18, 2014. There is something tremendously motivating about sewing with someone else in the room. even if that someone else is on the computer screen and lives 1000 miles away. Thanks so much Amy! I had a great time. Friday, July 18, 2014. Wish I had been there! We do need to figure out the group skype too! I am still working away.one more hour and half to go! July 18, 2014 at 7:53 PM. What a fun idea! July 19, 2014 at 10:34 AM. Nothing better than sewing with a friend. Linus is "the Man".
One Thread at a Time: T-shirt quilt
http://patchworkpenguin.blogspot.com/2014/07/t-shirt-quilt.html
Tuesday, July 15, 2014. I've always thought t-shirt quilts were cool and thought, one day, I would make one. Never did I think it would be as a memorial for a former student. His mother taught at the nursery school my twins attended and her son was there also. I had the opportunity to be his teacher in High School for World Cultures. Unfortunately he was in an accident in January of his senior year which proved fatal. Chris was a great young man and I know he would have accomplished great things. Quilts ...

Friday, February 14, 2014. Cleaning up and remembering the journey. Today is a day that, under our contract, we earn in exchange for the conference time done after school hours in November. If Snowmageddon had to happen, I'm glad it happened yesterday so many of us, and the students, get a five-day weekend. Have a wonderful day quilt friends. Take a moment and drive down memory lane. It is amazing what memories there are. Friday, February 14, 2014. Thursday, February 13, 2014. Thursday, February 13, 2014.
One Thread at a Time: The party's over.... almost
http://patchworkpenguin.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-partys-over-almost.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2015. The party's over. almost. Somehow Charlie Brown always gets it right. My summer is slowly coming to an end. Our local school districts decided to start earlier this year, August 17, to allow for more teaching days before the testing season in April. But in the end, I have to realize that much of the success comes from the choices they make. Take care of yourselves and make it a great day! Wednesday, July 29, 2015. At Play in My Pieceful World: January 2010
http://piecefuljane.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 31, 2010. January UFO Challenge- Status Update. It is officially the last day of January, and I am not done with my January UFO. But, I am making progress and I fully intend to finish it this week. I only need to do some quilting in the outer border and bind it. But I may need to play with that last border a bit, as it seems to be a bit wavy. :(. Posted by Pieceful Jane. Monday, January 25, 2010. This will be a wall hanging, or maybe a pillow. The individual basket blocks are going to...

misserincrafts: Abstract scraps
http://misserincrafts.blogspot.com/2015/06/abstract-scraps.html
I'm a quilter and seamstress sharing my projects, trials and triumphs. Sit back, read and leave some love! Moda Bake shop ideas. Monday, June 1, 2015. While at StashBash, I took advantage of the scrap bin at the pop up shop. I pulled a large amount of "manly" prints-mainly art, math, abstract prints as opposed to flowery pinks and purples. I have a few more wedding quilts to be finished and wanted to do something simple as the others have been. Thank you for commenting and visiting misserincrafts.
misserincrafts: April 2015
http://misserincrafts.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
I'm a quilter and seamstress sharing my projects, trials and triumphs. Sit back, read and leave some love! Moda Bake shop ideas. Thursday, April 30, 2015. I recently saw the above fabric on an IG sale and snapped up two charm packs. I toyed with cutting them up into hourglass blocks or half square triangles. However, after finding this bright yellow in my stash and seeing how much I had, I did some fast math which resulted in this quilt and very little extra! Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Not only did the qui...

Stash Slash Project: February 2011
http://stashslashproject.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
One quilter's commitment to use up her stash before buying more fabric. (At least I want to make a dent in it.). Friday, February 25, 2011. What I have been doing. Well, I feel like I have made some progress. I have the Philhaven quilt top pieced. Just need to get it quilted. The colors did not show up true. Wish the photo was better. Perhaps the picture of the quilted version will be better. Links to this post. Thursday, February 17, 2011. Links to this post. Wednesday, February 16, 2011. Monthly projec...

I'm a quilter and seamstress sharing my projects, trials and triumphs. Sit back, read and leave some love! Moda Bake shop ideas. Friday, November 14, 2014. In about an hour, my love had the quilt idea loaded and sent to me. What a relief, as it was in the middle of quilt market and my trusty pattern friends weren't available to tell me where to purchase it. I'm working on about a dozen quilts for our upcoming wedding as thank you gifts and this is one of them. Thursday, November 13, 2014. The center of t...
quilting canuck: February 2011

Monday, February 14, 2011. Building Blocks - Line Diagrams. Over the years of doing Nearly Insane. I've had a few questions asking me how I figure out what to cut. I chose not to provide dimensions for the blocks I was doing since that would mean you didn't need to buy the book and I figure that violates the copy right. So, instead I'm doing a tutorial on how I figure it out. The Centre of this block (picture below) is a 3" finished (3 1/2" unfinished) square made up of 9 squares that are each 1" finished.
quilting canuck: Building Blocks - Set in seams
http://quiltingcanuck.blogspot.com/2010/08/building-blocks-set-in-seams.html
Tuesday, August 10, 2010. Building Blocks - Set in seams. I was working on these blocks and someone looked at them and said eewww set in seams. They're really quite simple to do and shouldn't scare you off from a block that you're interested. So, I thought I'd do a little tutorial. You start off by attaching the first piece the the centre block. Leaving part of the seam undone. I usually do not bother back stitching with this step. The next piece is added just as you always would. Same with the next piece.
quilting canuck: Building Blocks - Square-in-a-Square II
http://quiltingcanuck.blogspot.com/2009/07/building-blocks-square-in-square-ii.html
Sunday, July 5, 2009. Building Blocks - Square-in-a-Square II. I've been thinking of doing a series of building blocks type tutorials for a while now. Cut your centre diamond square (the square-in-a-square block in the picture below) C 1/2" by C 1/2". Sew two of the triangles on opposite sides with a 1/4" seam allowance. Here is a close-up of the X. And here is the point you end up with. All without needing to pin. (Yes, I'm lazy. I'll avoid extra steps wherever possible.). And here it is trimmed. I'm st...
