It tunes flat on every band, 80 through 6 meters. There SHOULD be some directionality with it, but I’m not noticing it, it seems to work well in all directions. I’ll keep y’all posted.🙂. Posted October 9, 2012 by Rick Garrett in Ham Radio. It works. It’s VERY directional, but after a month of use, the noise level is just too high to contend with. It’s pretty common for it to he 10 over S9, so I can only work the very strongest of stations, and that’s not enough for me. 2 responses to this post.

So, while Scott was driving back home from his hometown of Richmond, Indiana one night after spending the week-end at his mom’s house, he had to take a little detour off of Interstate 70 (the route he normally takes) and drive from Richmond to Greenfield on US Highway 40. Getting on the lower bands of HF has proved to be problematic for me. I’m OK on 10, 12, 17, and 15 with an Antron A-99, but 20, 40, and 80…there’s no room for a dipole or even a longwire, so it’s been tough. 40 meters is also quite good. The experiment continues.
