If there were no music, I would not get through. Happy Belated New Year! And thus begins my year o' travel. As my last post. Which begs the question, where did I just return from and why did I need a camera so fast? I've gotten a lot of questions about which was my favorite. It's a tough quesiton to answer, because each one stands out for a different reason:. Thailand was the country that I had the most fun in. I felt completely comfortable, and yet there were so many cultural aspects that reminded m...

If there were no music, I would not get through. In class today, my professor gave an offhand example of the power of the size of the market, that still has me thinking. But what incentive does the pharmaceutical company have to create this medicine? The amount of time and money that goes into researching and developming a new drug is non-trivial. Add in the costs of patents, and you begin to see why the pharmas make sure to fully research the potential of the market before launching a new product. It fi...

Exuberant Bastard: July 2006
http://nevkil.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 22, 2006. Clarity in the calamity. My 9 year old speakers from Boston Acoustics (via Gateway computers), have been picking up AM radio stations at odd hours in the morning. Let me tell you it was quite scary the first time it happened. I thought I had burglars talking to me about politics and sports. So I made the executive purchasing decision by ordering a set of Logitech Z-5450 5.1 speakers (with wireless surround). To paraphrase the Monkees:. Now I'm a believer. Videogames are a passion...

Tuesday, June 29, 2004. Today my world both shrank and exploded right before my very eyes. As a Social Moth (see social butterfly. I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate". Sorry if I wander about in topic and subject. But the ideas I set before the story (try to) explain my brains alignment with fudged logic and my heart. Posted by Nevkil at 6/29/2004 01:31:00 PM. Monday, June 28, 2004. The whole process seems to molt me. Posted by Nevkil at 6/28/2004 03:04:00 PM. A technologicall...

Tuesday, June 27, 2006. Converting Black and White. Many programs out there will convert a color picture to black and white with simple De-saturation. Try messing with the color curves or filters to get an effect you like, for instance increased grain for that film feel, or upping the contrast/brightness. I might try again with the picture of the dancing flower girl, but for now I'm satisfied with the results. Posted by Nevkil at 6/27/2006 11:39:00 AM. Friday, June 23, 2006. You can't beat that price.

Exuberant Bastard: Sometimes Boo's are good. (well in this case great!)
http://nevkil.blogspot.com/2006/11/sometimes-boos-are-good-well-in-this.html
Wednesday, November 01, 2006. Sometimes Boo's are good. (well in this case great! I really haven't been into halloween for quite some time. I mean a guy of my stature doesn't really need the all you can eat sugar-ho-down that this particular holiday offers, and I'm not really keen on better than your average horror flicks. What was wrong with Freddy and Jason? Throughout the images of my childhood, there exists amusing snaps of my brother, my cousins and myself in strange garb. Filipino Cowboys? All in a...

Thursday, January 04, 2007. Seven Thousand and Going! Pictures from the New Years Eve party I attended thrown by Gena and Maggie. Gena's birthday is on the 31st of December, so a heck of a party was thrown in her honor. While we were there we stayed and partied for New Years Eve. These are the results. Wow I bought my Canon Digital SLR EOS. Some of your digital wedding photogs. Out there shoot a good 1200 a weekend. But in the year and four months that I've had my 20D I can say I've grown a lot. Exuberant Bastard: Financially Mutilating but Photographically Liberating

Tuesday, May 15, 2007. Financially Mutilating but Photographically Liberating. Michelle's daughter @ Heather's graduation pool party. Wow I mean WOW. It's here. My 70-200mm f2.8L IS USM. I've had it for about 2 weeks now, and I've given it some work, with some graduation related casual photography. I bought it knowing it would complete most of my range needs, but I didn't know that it also completed "me". Alright I kid, but ISabeLla. Yeah I just named her right now in fact, shhh. The 24-70mm f2.8L. And I...
