Conservative Baptist Views: Numbers 7: Repetitions with a Meaning
http://cbviews.blogspot.com/2012/09/numbers-7-repetitions-with-meaning.html
Comments on Christianity and the Conservative Baptist Movement- past, present, future. Friday, September 14, 2012. Numbers 7: Repetitions with a Meaning. I was reading Numbers 7. Last night. That's the chapter that tells about the dedication offering for the altar that each tribe brings to the Lord. Much of the chapter repeats this long sentence twelve times changing only the name of the tribal leader who gives the offering, his father's name, and his tribe's name. For the altar from the leaders of Israel.

Conservative Baptist Views: Jesus' words
http://cbviews.blogspot.com/2012/10/jesus-words.html
Comments on Christianity and the Conservative Baptist Movement- past, present, future. Tuesday, October 09, 2012. I was talking to a friend today about Luke 12:1-13:8. It reminded me of a point Ori Soltes. Made about Socratic dialogues. Though it may not be easy to figure out what is from Plato and what is from Socrates in Plato's artistic rendering, it is clearly an artistic rendering and not a transcription. Soltes points out that Socratic dialogue isn't like normal conversation. Unlike a Socratic dial...

Conservative Baptist Views: Testing the Lord
http://cbviews.blogspot.com/2012/08/testing-lord.html
Comments on Christianity and the Conservative Baptist Movement- past, present, future. Thursday, August 09, 2012. The Lord’s temptation on the pinnacle of the temple is an intriguing part of the temptations Satan presents to Jesus. The temptation is described in Matthew 4 and Luke 4. 5 Then the devil took Him into the holy city and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple,. Is a part not only of upright living but following the Lord and trusting His promises. For most of us, however, throwing ourselve...

Comments on Christianity and the Conservative Baptist Movement- past, present, future. Thursday, February 12, 2015. Faith to Be Healed. How much faith does one have to have to be healed? Jesus talks about it specifically in the case of one man and his demon possessed son. ( Mark 9:14-29. Then Jesus questions the father's statement. "And Jesus said to him, '‘If You can? There are some interesting elements in this story. First, in asking the man about his faith, Jesus does not directly imply that the boy w...

Comments on Christianity and the Conservative Baptist Movement- past, present, future. Sunday, March 25, 2012. One of those passages recently caught my attention. 2 “Thus says the LORD, ‘Stand in the court of the LORD’S house, and speak to all the cities of Judah who have come to worship in the LORD’S house all the words that I have commanded you to speak to them. Do not omit a word! 6 then I will make this house like Shiloh, and this city I will make a curse to all the nations of the earth.”&#...It is c...
