Banker's niece seeks perfection: October 2013
http://seeksperfection.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Banker's niece seeks perfection. Thursday, 31 October 2013. Arm very painful and I feel extremely frustrated and sorry for myself so will cheer myself – and hopefully you – with the following. I have long been delighted by a graffito on a wall in our nearest town:. Leanne Lister is a slat. And a wonderful human being. Good on you Leanne. You’ve obviously got friends. I also enjoyed two graffiti inside the door of a service station lavatory recently. Person number one had written:. Your all f* *ers. The s...

Mad Englishwoman and Dog: December 2014
http://belinda-whitworth.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Mad Englishwoman and Dog. WALKING AND WRITING (MOSTLY). Sunday, 28 December 2014. On the edge of the spooky wood. (Spot the dog.) I think I need a camera with a spirit level. Rustic fence and oak trees. Just us and the view. I’m reading a fabulous book at the moment. I chose it because of the title: FERAL: Searching for enchantment on the frontiers of rewilding. Off today to buy a new camera. Expect lots of amazing pictures. Sunday, 14 December 2014. I climb the hill with the dog. The sky is spotless blue.

Mad Englishwoman and Dog: What lies around that corner?
http://belinda-whitworth.blogspot.com/2015/03/what-lies-around-that-corner.html
Mad Englishwoman and Dog. WALKING AND WRITING (MOSTLY). Sunday, 29 March 2015. What lies around that corner? As I take yet another photograph of a path, I realise that I have a fascination with roads, tracks and paths of all kinds - in spite of liking my nature as wild as possible. So here are some of the photographs of roads, tracks and paths that I’ve taken over the last few years. At a local park last week. Near home a few weeks ago. The Taunton and Bridgwater Canal in January. Seeing these pictures t...

Mad Englishwoman and Dog: July 2013
http://belinda-whitworth.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Mad Englishwoman and Dog. WALKING AND WRITING (MOSTLY). Tuesday, 16 July 2013. Brindle, photographed by Sam Baker. You may remember a post. Of mine about the life and death of Brindle, one of our dogs. At the end of this I included a photograph of Brindle taken (in about 1997) by Sam Baker, a friend who was just out of art college. Sam is now a professional photographer, specialising in 'photographs with personality'. She has a new website www.sambakerphotography.co.uk. Do check her out. Over 15 years an...

Mad Englishwoman and Dog: May 2013
http://belinda-whitworth.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Mad Englishwoman and Dog. WALKING AND WRITING (MOSTLY). Monday, 27 May 2013. Embracing the inner artist. This morning while walking the dog – or rather while sitting down in the corner of a field out of the wind to ‘meditate’ (my version) and watch the dog excavating a rabbit hole in the hedge – I had another thought. I need to give more weight to my creative side. So, the next step is to work out how to resolve this conflict, how to stop my business side being such a bully and embrace my inner artist.

Mad Englishwoman and Dog: Describing colours
http://belinda-whitworth.blogspot.com/2015/03/describing-colours.html
Mad Englishwoman and Dog. WALKING AND WRITING (MOSTLY). Friday, 6 March 2015. I see that Roselle has done a recent blog. Post called ‘Shades of yellow’ and this reminds me both of a post I've done. Of the same name and of Roselle’s novel-writing course. Which I followed a couple of years ago. So here is my attempt on my walk yesterday to describe the many shades of yellow I saw. The word that springs to mind for this lichen is 'sulphur' but I've never seen sulphur so 'mustard' would be more honest. Kidna...

Banker's niece seeks perfection: April 2014
http://seeksperfection.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Banker's niece seeks perfection. Thursday, 24 April 2014. I’ve been meaning to update this blog for days, if not weeks, and I’ve made several attempts, but each time I write something I think, ‘This is so boring. Why should anyone want to know about the progress of my novel? 8217; I keep looking for something topical to bring the subject alive and make it more relevant. Nothing, however, has materialised, so you’ll just have to make do with the bones. Which are as follows. So I took the only course open ...

Mad Englishwoman and Dog: March 2013
http://belinda-whitworth.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Mad Englishwoman and Dog. WALKING AND WRITING (MOSTLY). Thursday, 28 March 2013. I’ve always been a sponge. I find it all too easy to understand other people’s points of view. Other people's emotions wash through me. When talking to people I put myself in their head. I see me through their eyes. I’m them. Thinking of them as well as me – we’re quite a handful to have to stay – and they all thought it was a good idea too. It’s been hell. 8216;She’s a control freak’ said the trainer. But I can’t. Yesterday...
