The trees block out the show in the sky, but sleeping out on the ground gives me the gift of the sunrise at ground level. Get on the ground and smell the dirt. I was using a point and shoot camera and was videoing with my pack on. The focus on that thing sucks. Saturday, March 6, 2010. The trail shown in the video was actually pretty dry as far as things go. At that point we had several days of sunshine and no rain. You can imagine how wet things were a week earlier. Playtime is the Best Time. Sunday, April 24, 2011. There are some really good reasons why I live where I do. I live here because I want to. One of my favorite things about East Tennessee is that I can drive an hour or less in just about any direction and have top quality hiking. Its not the most majestic of places I've hiked, but there is something really special about the southern Appalachians. Spring creeping up the mountain with a little more green each day. Someone please correct me on this one!
