Thursday, May 22, 2014. This picture is from the internet. These are wing covers from jewel beetles. They vary in color: blue, green, and copper tones. To use them for embellishment on clothing and accessories, the wings are steamed for about five minutes to soften them, and then, using a sharp needle, holes are pierced at the tips and on the sides in order to attach them to fabric. Monday, February 17, 2014. My Grandmother was a Dour Woman. Wow, I have labored over this story and learned a few things along the way. When I first unwrapped these three pictures, I immediately knew the first line of my story and the last line. I was interested how I would bridge the two sentences. Photo of the “author.” I do.
