Pat Southwood, Norfolk Potter.: Chilly February

http://patsouthwoodnorfolkpotter.blogspot.com/2012/08/chilly-february.html

Pat Southwood, Norfolk Potter. Monday, 13 August 2012. This lovely line of prints were left all the way from the roadside down to the back field, making a perfect picture to greet me on a chilly Monday morning, they are from a Muntjack deer. The temperature inside the workshop was struggling to get up to 1 Degree. So I decided to light the woodburner and walk down to the Broad while it warmed the place up a bit. Monday, August 13, 2012. Pat Southwood, Norfolk Potter.: April 2010

http://patsouthwoodnorfolkpotter.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Pat Southwood, Norfolk Potter. Friday, 16 April 2010. Whilst quietly working away yesterday, with only the sound of my whirring wheel to listen to. (No flights from Norwich Airport, sky full of Icelandic volcanic ash) I heard the sound of a struggling lorry attempting to go up the road, with great difficulty. Intrigued, I popped my head out to see. A couple of reed glazed mugs sealed the deal. I didn't realise they were going to bring me quite that much! Friday, April 16, 2010. Wednesday, 7 April 2010.

Pat Southwood, Norfolk Potter.: January 2012

Pat Southwood, Norfolk Potter. Sunday, 29 January 2012. Whilst sorting out some papers at the workshop I came across some of my 2D work from college. These three photo's show the different perspectives that I am interested in. When marks are viewed at any size and from any distance they become abstracted and form their own patterns. The silk screen print on the left came from a mash up of macro photographs taken from the tyre tracks of many different farm vehicles. However, after we had got up to around ...

Pat Southwood, Norfolk Potter.: Now available online!

http://patsouthwoodnorfolkpotter.blogspot.com/2012/01/now-available-online.html

Pat Southwood, Norfolk Potter. Saturday, 21 January 2012. I've just ventured into the world of online sales. Like a true luddite, about 10yrs after everyone else, but never mind, I get there in the end. At present, due to the frequency with which I can wood fire, the work that I have available for sale fired in this way is limited. I am only selling my woodfired work either direct from my workshop, at selected ceramics and pottery shows in the U.K. or from this site. It was great, if. A little daunting,.

Pat Southwood Norfolk Potter. Working in the heart of the Norfolk Broads

Wood and Soda fired Pots from the Norfolk Broads. Courses at Cosseys Yard. I work in an old Thatchers Yard to the East of Norwich next to Salhouse Broad, which is part of the Norfolk Broads National Park. My pots are hand thrown using a variety of stoneware clays, ranging from porcelain to a high iron fleck. My rural location directly informs my work, providing me with raw materials for glazes and slips. Currently I am using reclaimed Silt from Hoveton Great Broad, giving me unique glazes and surfaces.

Patrick Monaghan – A thing for game dev

Stuff In Menu Form. Months of Not Much (Resurrecting Voi). April 12, 2016. April 12, 2016. Hello again. It’s been on the order of three months since my last post, somewhat longer than I’d hoped, but here’s a new one. Since my last post, I’ve worked on a few small(ish) things here and there, not really finishing much, but learning quite a bit regardless. I had quite a large problem where I had largely conflicting ideas about what I should. Tried to do some simple animations. #gamedev. Fast forward to a we...

Women In IT

Woman must not accept; she must challenge. She must not be awed by that which has been built up around her; she must reverence that woman in her which struggles for expression. You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, "I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along." You must do the thing you think you cannot do. Wednesday, February 10, 2010. Who Was Grace Hopper? Grace died o...
