Just a Little Fish in a Little Pond." Photos and thoughts on local occurrences and scenery. Visitors welcome. Friday, December 20, 2013. Christmas without Mom and Dad. Mom died Sunday, September 8, 2013, mid-afternoon after a visit from grandkids. She died with family by her side. Probably not. None of it. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The View From My Chair. Pat's Pond: Heads up. Head cold time!
http://patspond.blogspot.com/2014/02/heads-up-head-cold-time.html
Just a Little Fish in a Little Pond." Photos and thoughts on local occurrences and scenery. Visitors welcome. Saturday, February 08, 2014. Heads up. Head cold time! I should have known. My sinuses have been stuffed up for a few days, and I couldn't drain them into a tissue. Sneezing like crazy over nothing. A fever. The sure sign of a fever. The MS symptoms are coming back. Its quite a testimonial to Copaxone that I no longer catch on as quickly. Instead, I was puzzled, but too busy to work it out.
Pat's Pond: What the hell is the matter with me?

Just a Little Fish in a Little Pond." Photos and thoughts on local occurrences and scenery. Visitors welcome. Wednesday, July 16, 2014. What the hell is the matter with me? I can't even put this post in the MSCompanion. And I don't have a stupidity blog, so the Pond will have to do. My daughter offered to do some yard work for me and I graciously accepted. Or is that gratefully? Anyway, she clipped my shrub around the front porch, but called me to ask what to do about the mail box. I SWEAR I mentally vis...
Pat's Pond: Sleep peacefully, Mum
http://patspond.blogspot.com/2013/09/sleep-peacefully-mum.html
Just a Little Fish in a Little Pond." Photos and thoughts on local occurrences and scenery. Visitors welcome. Sunday, September 08, 2013. Sleep peacefully, Mum. Relaxed, happy pose during a rare vacation trip. At about 4:00 pm, today,- less than one hour ago! Our mother, Cecilia Rita Paquette Baker, passed on. She was aware to the end, and died in the arms of my eldest brother, right after saying goodbye to my Sister, Dad, and my other brothers. Sleep well, Mum. You earned it. The View From My Chair.
Pat's Pond: One step backwards

Just a Little Fish in a Little Pond." Photos and thoughts on local occurrences and scenery. Visitors welcome. Wednesday, February 05, 2014. Weeeeeellll. I don't have the stick-to-itiveness to keep submitting my manuscript. It may be all the rejections or it may simply be the Seasonal Affective Disorder: either way, I've had enough for now. I have begun handing out my best chapters for feedback. These are the ones with either dialog or action. I need some good feedback for a while. The View From My Chair.

Go River Dogging!: May 2009
http://riverdogging.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 18, 2009. It's tough to visit the ducklings with Ellie. Mama Duck takes her babies well out of harms way as soon as we exit the car. We can see her profile, though. She's a proud Merganser Mama. Her babies look so little compared to even the tiny waves on the waters. I love the Chemung River in the Spring. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Before we belonged to the Chemung. Its tough to visit the ducklings with Ellie.
Go River Dogging!: April 2009
http://riverdogging.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 5, 2009. Ellie and the River greet spring. This uprooted tree is one of many moved by the flooding river. Ellie enjoys mucking around in the water front. The flood plain is finally turning green! The rushing river has scoured the woodlands clean. We look forward to visiting when it is just a touch warmer. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Before we belonged to the Chemung. Ellie and the River greet spring.
Go River Dogging!: Little Hero, Little Buddy
http://riverdogging.blogspot.com/2010/02/little-hero-little-buddy.html
Sunday, February 28, 2010. Little Hero, Little Buddy. Poor Riverdog got no Chemung today. She knew and didn't want to go out, even hid behind the bed. I am a great believer in exercise for dogs. Each day, every day, as much as possible. Not really possible today, though. I am tapering from a Solumedrol drip, and quite weak. I am barely able to walk the block, and must use a cane. Still, I hooked Ellie up to the leash and out we went. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Before we belonged to the Chemung.
Go River Dogging!: July 2010
http://riverdogging.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 18, 2010. The RiverDog has moved upstream. Ellie has followed the RiverHag to a new site. Please God, let this be our last move. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Before we belonged to the Chemung. The RiverDog has moved upstream.
Go River Dogging!: February 2009
http://riverdogging.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 25, 2009. We have the sort of midwinter days that allow us to stay out long enough for plenty of exercise, but everything looks wintry. Foster Island is still snow covered, but the Chemung is flowing. For Ellie it is a time to check out tracks and scent something in the air. She like the doggies' tracks as much as if they were deer's. These two shot were from the mouth of Hoffman Creek, completely bereft of all animal wildlife. Those yellow things signal. Monday, February 23, 2009.
Go River Dogging!: December 2009
http://riverdogging.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 25, 2009. Ellie love Santa, especially when played by MamaDog at PetSmart. This was taken during the SPCA special sittings, all money taken as donations. Sunday, December 20, 2009. Looking for a frozen fish dinner, perhaps? He flew away and returned, only to fly away again. We left, so he or she could catch some dinner. Saturday, December 5, 2009. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Go River Dogging!: July 2009
http://riverdogging.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 25, 2009. After a very rainy week, we were delighted to have a dry Saturday morning to walk the paths out in West Elmira. Occasionally venturing into the water. Now, this is not swimming. If you see any pictures with her tail straight up, well, she's wading. But she's so happy and active when she wades. At home she will nap the day away, drained of her usually nervous energy. Sunday, July 19, 2009. From lush spring to dry midsummer. The only thing we don't especially like is the hard-scrab...

Monday, May 24, 2010. No she is not! Right here it looks as though my little granddaughter Violet could easily upstage the RiverDog. You might understandably think that, but you would be wrong. Ellie the Riverdog and Grammy RiverHag have a few more things in common, and we go way back! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Before we belonged to the Chemung. No she is not!
RiverDogging: September 2007
http://riverdog2007.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
Probably the best way to peruse this, and the other, river blogs is to check out the entries by date. The Chemung River is delightfully different with each season's change. Tuesday, September 18, 2007. Misty September Morning on the Chemung. The cold mornings have been raising a huge amount of fog over the valley, so we went down to the river to watch it rise. Huggamutt came along for the hike. These fat fellows simply kept their distance, clucking and honking warily. One misty morning. One lazy hour...
RiverDogging: November 2007

Probably the best way to peruse this, and the other, river blogs is to check out the entries by date. The Chemung River is delightfully different with each season's change. Saturday, November 3, 2007. Chemung River. Elmira Southside. We are directly across from Foster Island and the Water Board. This is Southside. Sometimes we see people walk their pets over here, and we wanted to take a look. Peaceful. Canoeists can always find solitude on the Chemung. I wish I had a canoe, myself. Someone wants to pres...
