Apiary Arts Hawai'i: Red
http://www.apiaryartshawaii.com/2012/12/randomness-red.html
Sunday, December 2, 2012. I celebrate color every day, but I celebrate red the most, I think. My red lacquer conga drum. Celebrating red on canvas occupies a fair bit of my time! Almost as much as the hunt for The Perfect Red. But that is a story for another post. My latest large red celebration. Soon we will talk about how I celebrated red on my new front door! Apiary Arts Hawai'i: Bees, Green Onions, and You
http://www.apiaryartshawaii.com/2013/07/bees-green-onions-and-you.html
Friday, July 5, 2013. Bees, Green Onions, and You. We are all so busy. Busy as bees. I know that people want to plant things to help our pollinators, and in particularly our honeybees, who are being sorely tested these days. But where to find the time, and seeds take so long, and sometimes don't sprout. It is so easy to move a planting project to the back burner, I know. How about something that takes less than five minutes? Something you can do even in a postage-stamp sized garden or apartment lanai.

Apiary Arts Hawai'i: Celebrating Red Again! From the Outsisde In!
http://www.apiaryartshawaii.com/2013/05/celebrating-red-again-from-outsisde-in.html
Thursday, May 9, 2013. From the Outsisde In! This is reflected in my art, always. And in my home. And now, I don't even have to come in the door before the celebration begins. Thanks to my daughter, my front entry door is now a gorgeous luscious red. The front lanai doesn't always look this fabulous, because the dogs seem to love the red energy as much as I do. Isn't this color great! Posted by Apiary Arts Hawai'i. I love hearing from you, comments are moderated, so yours may take a little while to appear.

Apiary Arts Hawai'i: The Paintings
http://www.apiaryartshawaii.com/p/the-paintings.html
I am an oil painter. I paint because I am driven to it by colors, shapes, and textures I see in the flowers and plants in the gardens and wild places on the Big Island. Studio notes will make it to the blog soon, but in the meantime, you can visit my website and see some of my work. If you see something you like, please let me know. And, if you would like me to paint something for you, please ask. That is one of my favorite things to do. To see paintings featured on my blog, please click here. Welcome to...

Apiary Arts Hawai'i: Floral Friday - White Crown Flower
http://www.apiaryartshawaii.com/2013/01/flower-friday-white-crown-flower.html
Thursday, January 17, 2013. Floral Friday - White Crown Flower. While on a trip to the other side of the island, I found a gorgeous Crown Flower bush in bloom across from Kawaihae Harbor. The crown flower is a member of the milkweed family, also called Giant Milkweed or Calptropis gigantea. Brought to Hawai‘i from India in 1888, its long-lasting flowers make beautiful leis. These were in full magnificent bloom when I snapped these pictures. White Crown Flowers, Kawaihae. Posted by Apiary Arts Hawai'i.

http://www.apiaryartshawaii.com/p/honey.html
Created with flickr slideshow. I have created special labels for the honey and for the growing line of body products. I am still working on formulas, but so far have created two that I am very happy with and have been well received by my cadre of happy "testers." I included these labels with this slideshow of honey varietal labels. Enjoy! Created with flickr slideshow. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). From Us to You. Honey, hand-crafted body products, and more coming soon! Bees, Green Onions, and You.

Apiary Arts Hawai'i: Bees and Beekeeping
http://www.apiaryartshawaii.com/p/bees-and-beekeeping.html
In this space I was going to write ALL about bees, and beekeeping, and how to do it, and why to do it. But that is such a big story, and so many others have written that story so much better than I could, and with more knowledge and experience and, yes, credibility. I want to use this space to tell you about why *I* do it. And sometimes even how I do it. And, if that helps you to do it, that is great. For now, what I want you to know is this:. Oh, and they like sunflowers, too. A lot. But she is not a ba...
