Paul plays domestically and internationally with all types of ensemble. He was the Principal and Solo trombone with the Royal Marines. Concert Band which was under the direction of Captain David Cole. MVO,MMus.,. RM(Rtd), (now Major Tony Smal. Lwood) and the H. Band, under the direction of Major Peter. Curtis MBE, BMus(Hons), PGDip, LRSM, AMusTCL.,RM. Sadly, relocation has meant his departure from these excellent bands. Apart from a passionate love of music in all its forms, Paul has been an active sports person and academic. Having left the Royal Marines Band service in 1987, he embarked on a plethora of qualifications. Over the years he has studied various martial arts (until spinal injury saw an end to that) Some to very high levels. The martial arts studied were Judo, Kendo, Jakab, Bu-Jutsu. Now, in the more sedate years, the trombone gives as much exercise as one can take ".
