Wednesday, October 20, 2010. Atlanta and Iowa City. This is the view from the Georgia Aquarium, which is right in the middle of Atlanta. After the aquarium we walked through Olympic Park to the fountain show. We got there a little before it started and kids were playing in it, and Abby joined in and had fun playing in it. Another day we went downtown. We went to the library, the University of Iowa and the Old Capitol building, which, as its name implies, was the Old Capitol building of Iowa before th...

Pavio: May 2010

http://pauleolson.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Monday, May 31, 2010. Matt Evans, the young mens president, put on a good program in the lodge about the restoration of the priesthood. After that we sat around the campfire for the rest of the night and the young men kept the fire burning. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A Little Dose of Schadenfreude (for everyone else). Pavio: June 2010

http://pauleolson.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, June 10, 2010. Still, most of it wasn't covered by scaffolding. Here's a gate with the cathedral behind it. Behind me is Paternoster Square, which means Our Father in Latin and is another name for the Lord's Prayer. My guess is that's where the square got its name. And the square has a nice sundial that clearly showed that I was there at the end of May. St Paul's Cathedral is a very impressive building, and it's a shame I couldn't take pictures inside. Pavio: October 2009

http://pauleolson.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

Monday, October 12, 2009. Last Saturday I went with an international student group to Windsor Castle, which began a thousand years ago as a fortress for William the Conqueror. The Queen still lives there (along with 4 other residences) and it's the largest castle in the world that people still live in. I took a ton of pictures so here are just a few:. The first picture is of the front gate and the next is of the long lane into Great Park:. More of the castle:. Left to right: Esther, Max , Sabrina, Wei.

Friday, August 20, 2010. Ancestral Towns in Italy. He drove us around to a couple and we found one for 65 euros, which was pretty cheap. Pretty decent hotel, and at the foot of Monte Cassino which we needed to go up the next day. You can see the Abbey of Montecassino at the top of the mountain in this picture. Here's the main door to the Abbey, though tourists enter in a door off to the right of this picture. This view is from the top of the steps in the main courtyard looking out towards Cassino. We wal...

Our (semi-rare) updates on our adventures: June 2010

http://huyetts.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Our (semi-rare) updates on our adventures. Friday, June 11, 2010. Okay, now that I'm about 3 months behind on blogging, I've decided it's time to get this all up to date again. So, what has been going on in our life lately? 1 We have callings! Seth is now the Elders Quorum President, while I've been recruited to act as the Ward Camp Specialist and Primary Secretary. So church is keeping us pretty busy these days. Hopefully it's growth will cover over the space left from the others. :-/. 10 Hmm, well, I f...

Our (semi-rare) updates on our adventures. Saturday, January 30, 2010. The things you learn . . . So, since we acquired Cuda (pics of her are here. I've been doing a little more vacuuming than normal. Make that a LOT more vacuuming. I think our carpets are actually cleaner now with a dog living on them than they were before. Sad, I know, but I'm trying to be honest here. Monday, January 18, 2010. And a bonus surprise . . . :P. Just for fun, here's a pic of our sparsely decorated but (I think) lovely Chri...

Our (semi-rare) updates on our adventures. Monday, June 29, 2009. Let's try this again, eh? 160;Yesterday we successfully survived sunday school- no mean feat when you wind up in charge of half of senior primary.  It actually went shockingly well.  No temper tantrums, tears, or declarations of how stupid church/our class/other class members were and there was actually some positive class participation. Yay! 160;(hey, you have to be happy with the little things, right? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A Little...

http://huyetts.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Our (semi-rare) updates on our adventures. Wednesday, February 3, 2010. Our bedroom has technically had a door since we moved in. Sure, it was only primered and not painted, and no, it didn't have a doorknob, and yeah, it wasn't hung right so it didn't actually close all the way but hey, that didn't matter because of everything else, right? Last week, Seth took down the door to paint it. Which was exciting 'cause hey, who doesn't like having doors? We look over at our doorway. Get nice and comfy. Still, ...

A quick shot of the kitchen. The living room fireplace (the red in the corner is the area missing carpet). View from the front windows. One of the bedrooms (They're all pretty similar). The basement family room area. Laundry room (no more clothes in the kitchen, lol). Saturday, August 15, 2009. Here's the front,.

Our (semi-rare) updates on our adventures. Wednesday, October 27, 2010. Remember when . . . I actually posted on here every once in a while? First off we have our new wood insert! Now we can have a fire without filling our entire house with smoke, yay! And here we have a pic from our trip to Crater Lake. Despite living fairly close, I somehow managed to miss actually going to Crater Lake. I did once see it while hiking- does that count? Also got a nice picture while we were there of Pirate Seth.
