Pauline's Brain Injury

On 19th July 2011, I suffered a subarachnoid haemorrhage after a rupture of a cerebral aneurysm. I spent 8 weeks in Royal Hallamshire hospital in ITU and HDU. I was transferred to the Northern General Hospital, Osborn 4 Neuro-rehabilitation ward for a further 7 months. I was unable to talk, walk and had weakness on my right side after a stroke. In February 2012, after a procedure called a Shunt, I began to walk & talk. These are my daily activities, memories and thoughts.....enjoy :)

Sunday, 3 February 2013. I slept all the way through the night, it was perfect for me. I just woke after 07:15am, While I was in the loo I noticed my neck! I had the red mark neck again. Will I ever learn to drink more fluids! I do know that my red marks are due to my body fluids. Will I ever drink enough :(. What a plonker at times. Sunday, 3 February 2013. I woke up and had my Fruit and Fibre cereal with a little pinch of Soy Sauce on it? It fell on the floor and broke its bottle body right in front of me. Poor Soy Sauce :(. I had to clean up all my mess. Poor me! I spent the morning with my spotty physician; we laughed and laughed at just about anything and everything. Sunday, 3 February 2013. I was in my charity T-shirt for the bike and my exercises. When I finished all my workouts, I had a shower and prepared for my opticians at 2:55pm in Shirebrook. I have since realised that the last time that I went to the optician in Shirebrook with Nobby. I had a cloud system in my eyes. I had a pinky, red colour in my eyes, I couldn’t see anything in 3’d. I couldn’t see the flat lines of doors, tables, chairs. Someone said to me quite a while ago when I just started talking:-.

Sunday, 3 February 2013. I woke up early this morning, knowing that Steve Government and K-K-K-Katie was on their way round this morning. They are so helpful; they listen to all my problems. As we were discussing all my problems, we started sniggering. Steve went on about a time that had happened to me in Osbourne. Hey, we had lots of stories from before when I was in Osbourne.
