New music sung by Celine Byrne. This new version of Ave Maria. Was written by the composer Paul Neville. There are two other well known versions of Ave Maria –. Schubert’s Ave Maria (1825) and the Bach/Gounod version (1853). The vocal on this version is being performed by the internationally renowned Irish soprano Celine Byrne. The earliest Latin text of Ave Maria appeared in 1495 as a prayer by Girolamo Savonarola – “Esposizione sopra l’Ave Maria”. The current Latin version reads as follows:.
