Paul's Beer Travels

Wednesday, 17 June 2015. Czech Trip 2015 - Cultural Day Part 2. Telč. The most photographed view of Telč. The second and final stop of our “cultural tour” was the UNESCO World Heritage. Which was a 50 minute train journey from Slavonice. Seemed to have a lot more going for it than Slavonice. For a start, its population is twice that of its near neighbour, and on the walk into the own centre from the station, we passed some proper shops; rather than boutiques selling items exclusively for tourists. Paul's Beer Travels: First Time in Berlin - Arrival

http://paulsbeertravels.blogspot.com/2014/03/first-time-in-berlin-arrival.html

Saturday, 29 March 2014. First Time in Berlin - Arrival. Touching down the other week at Berlin’s Schönefeld Airport. It wasn’t meant to be like this, and if things had gone to plan my arrival would have been quite different. A few words of explanation, coupled with some history might go some way to explain this conundrum as to why. Until quite recently the German capital was served by three separate airports; Templehof. To enable essential supplies of food and fuel to be flown in by the Western Allies.

Paul's Beer Travels: April 2010

http://paulsbeertravels.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Sunday, 25 April 2010. It's probably the best part of 30 years since I last visited Liverpool,. But my recent trip to the Isle of Man. Afforded me sufficient time in this vibrant port city to see a few of the sights and, more importantly, sample some of its pubs. I say sights; apart from the Albert Dock. With its red and black-painted chimneys, this wedge-shaped pub looks like a ship, and is very in keeping with its location. It didn't seem that busy when I called in on a bright and sunny Wednesday l...

Paul's Beer Travels: Six Days in Berlin

http://paulsbeertravels.blogspot.com/2014/04/six-days-in-berlin.html

Thursday, 3 April 2014. Six Days in Berlin. Almost a quarter of a century after the wall came down Berlin still feels like a city of two halves. Most of the historic and interesting buildings are in the eastern half of the city, ie they were behind the wall! Was cut off from former West Germany. And was totally isolated from both East Berlin. Despite, or perhaps because of this, we based ourselves in West Berlin; in the Charlottenburg. And an underground stop away from that was the Schloss Charlottenburg.

Being Bad

Wednesday, 7 May 2008. What is your degree subject (both if joint)? Does ‘Being Bad’ relate well to the other modules you are taking? Certainly my other philosophy modules (or they relate to it). Not so much my history ones, directly anyway, but I like that – makes a change! If so, how? And if not, why not? Have you found ‘Being Bad’ too demanding, too easy, or at an appropriate level? Do you think the list of topics covered on the module was appropriate? What did you think of the module team? Overall, t...

Paul's Bellingham Blog. My thoughts on Bellingham, the Real Estate market, and more. Whatcom County Land Owners May Have Water Rights Again. January 23rd, 2018 Posted in Bellingham. Jan, 23 2018. If you owned a parcel of land in Whatcom County (outside of city limits), and had no access to a water association share, you were unable to drill a private well in recent years. That has all changed now with the Hirst Legislation having passed. Is there jobs to support home values in Bellingham? Nov, 30 2017.

Ruminations on philosophy, psychology, life. Puzzlement (1/25-26/12; 2/8/12). January 12, 2017. For some who are working on the puzzle, the lack of a preexistent image of the final result has produced a sense of enormous exhilaration and excitement, while for others this absence of a guiding model is deeply vexing, almost paralyzing. Nevertheless, there is a general, shared belief that all of the. That guides our selection and placement of the pieces randomly scattered about the table. Do some rejoice be...
