Between The 'Burgh and The City: Hear Them Ring
http://paulsnatchko.blogspot.com/2010/12/hear-them-ring.html
Between The 'Burgh and The City. A View of Faith, Politics, Music and More by Paul Snatchko. Sunday, December 12, 2010. I have been writing today from the kitchen table in my mom's house outside of McDonald, PA. I can report that it's a wet, dreary day in Western PA. Since I'm in the ole hometown, I'm obliged to again present " Silver Bells. For the " YouTube clip. Many musical artists have done versions of "Silver Bells." But, to my mind, the best remains its debut presentation by Bob Hope. LA Religious...

Between The 'Burgh and The City. A View of Faith, Politics, Music and More by Paul Snatchko. Friday, April 11, 2014. For this week's " YouTube clip. For a peaceful weekend," below is Costanzo Festa. Beautiful and contemplative motet "Quis dabit oculis" (written in early 1514). I think it lends itself well to the home stretch of Lent. Hat-tip: 500 Years Ago Today. Between The 'Burgh and The City. A View of Faith, Politics, Music and More by Paul Snatchko. Friday, January 16, 2015. In Memoriam: Stefan Schack, 1972 - 2014. Back in my single days, I dated four people who had birthdays during this middle week of January. I always wondered what it was that attracted these mid-winter babies to a summer person like me. One of these old flames was Stefan Schack. Stefan had a beautiful, deep voice. He was a man with devoted friends. And, "Happy Birthday! There Will Be Bread.

Jonesin' for Speed: February 2009
http://jonesinforspeed.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 23, 2009. The putrid racing at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana (or whatever the southern California speedway is called nowadays) had me seriously contemplating switching to the Academy Awards late Sunday night. And this is coming from a guy who, not too long ago, thought “Slumdog Millionaires” was a film about landlords and the dilapidated apartments they rent to poor tenants. Would it kill someone to initiate a green flag pass for the lead more than just a couple times over 500 miles?

Between The 'Burgh and The City. A View of Faith, Politics, Music and More by Paul Snatchko. Monday, March 19, 2018. In Memoriam: Tripp Zanetis, 1980 - 2018. The 1946 film "It's a Wonderful Life" has been replaying in my mind over the past few days. On Thursday, somewhere along the Iraq - Syria border, this kind of history-changing, vacuum-creating event took place in our real world when a military helicopter crashed, killing all seven people on board. Among the lost was Tripp Zanetis. Almost immediately...
Paul's Nature Blog
Thursday, 17 April 2014. Thorpe has been rather quiet of late so I decided to head out to Horsey Gap on my day off for a late morning stroll along the path behind the dunes. At various times last year I saw here; Wheatears, Whinchats, Stonechats, Meadow Pipits and Tree Sparrows. The section adjacent to the pillbox is often particularly fruitful and this is where today I again saw a pair of Stonechats. Regards to all. Paul. Monday, 27 May 2013. Thorpe St Andrew Marshes.
