R Lil Bit of Cash: First Show of 2015 (And In Many Years!)
http://rlilbitofcash.blogspot.com/2015/04/first-show-of-2015-and-in-many-years.html
Sunday, April 19, 2015. First Show of 2015 (And In Many Years! It was a Johnston County Horse Show Series show (JCHSS), and the show was supposed to be on Saturday, the 11th, which was also my sweet Lilly's 15th birthday, but the weather has been stormy and they ended up post-poning the show for Sunday. We had a nice, long break after our in hand classes and Lilly was happy to hang out at the trailer and eat hay. I socialized a bit and caught up with some of my horse show buddies, ate a chili dog and...

R Lil Bit of Cash: February 2014
http://rlilbitofcash.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 28, 2014. Well, due to more icky weather, tomorrow's show has officially been moved to Sunday. I have to work Sunday, so even if Lilly and I were totally ready for the 2014 show season, we wouldn't have been able to go. So let's all pretend I never said anything about not being able to go because I'm way behind, and I'll feel less like a slacker. The show has been moved to Sunday and I have to work! Just a teeny, tiny bit. Coincidence that it's on the seedy toe hoof? Here are some photos...

R Lil Bit of Cash: May 2014
http://rlilbitofcash.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Waiting for the trimmer lady. I spoke with my trimmer some more about the new EasyCare shoes and nearly passed out when she told me it would cost about $250 for a set of front shoes. The shoes themselves run about $40, and while I know there are other material costs like glue, holy cow! I spent just over $90 for approximately 50 pounds of meat, which made enough food for 33 days. When all the different equations have been worked out (thanks to Excel! The results look like this:.

R Lil Bit of Cash: January 2015
http://rlilbitofcash.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 23, 2015. Usually when I'm a blog slacker, it's because I don't have anything to write about. The holidays are always busy, the days are short, it's cold outside (and I don't do cold very well). but the holidays are over, the days are getting longer, and while it's still cold outside, I have ventured out a time or two. Since I've been to just about every barn within a 20 mile radius of my home, I knew I'd have to go out a little farther than I probably wanted to, but I didn't have much ch...

R Lil Bit of Cash: July 2015
http://rlilbitofcash.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 30, 2015. We Made the List! I've been waiting forever for my PAC points from the last show to post on APHA's website. I like to keep track and make sure what I have in my records is what they have in their records, but this time I was waiting for another reason as well. And didn't want to cut my time there short. So the plan is to drive 12 hours back to North Carolina on Saturday, run over to the barn to do show prep, and be up and ready for an all day show on Sunday. Lilly has been doing ...

R Lil Bit of Cash: Lilly's Story
http://rlilbitofcash.blogspot.com/p/lillys-story.html
R Lil Bit of Cash. April 11, 2000. I asked the farm owner if the little filly was for sale and he said, "Honey, everything is for sale." He wanted $900 for her and said I could put a 50% deposit down if I wanted to make sure she didn't end up with someone else. I wrote a check on the spot and exactly three months and two days later, I paid off the balance and took my baby girl home. Her name changed to Lilly, and the rest is history.
