Music of the Zaruba Life: July 2014
http://zarubas.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 22, 2014. Happy (Belated) Birthday Jacob! I created this fun poster to help showcase Jacob's first year. Also during Jacob's first year, he has already lived in three different places (in three towns even and different parts of the state! Jacob is already a spoiled kid and had two birthday parties! Jacob also had his one year check up and of course, is still a healthy baby! And he's finally a well proportioned boy! He also got some more shots which I was nervous about because Austin couldn'...

Music of the Zaruba Life: The Waiting Period
http://zarubas.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-waiting-period.html
Wednesday, July 1, 2015. So, this is the time I hate. The waiting period between jobs and a move. There is so much unknown and I like to plan. But I can't plan yet. I want to find a good daycare for Jacob, one that we will all love as much as our current daycare. Once we have a house, Jacob will finally have the space to run around and a yard to play in. Once we buy a house, I'll find more time to work out, maybe join the rec center. AJ and I will be able to slow down and spend more time on us. So this i...

Music of the Zaruba Life: September 2014
http://zarubas.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Okay, so we're not going to be on Broadway. :) But we're keeping our tradition of going to see Broadway alive! Going to shows is one thing that Austin and I have done since we started seeing each other. We've managed to make it to at least one show, almost every year! Our first show was at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater, so not a Broadway production, but still pretty good! Avenue Q, University of Northern Iowa Gallagher Bluedorn, April 2010 - This was also not a huge productio...

Music of the Zaruba Life: Transitions
http://zarubas.blogspot.com/2015/05/transitions.html
Friday, May 29, 2015. I've been thinking a lot about transitions in life. When I think about the past five years, I think transitions. That's what our life has been. A lot and a lot of transitions. Or at least, it certainly feels that way. This is what I feel the past five years have been for us. Transitions. Always waiting for what's next. Waiting on new opportunities. Waiting to see if this is a good fit. And then preparing for what's next. Preparing for the next opportunity. We still have wedding pres...

Music of the Zaruba Life: June 2014
http://zarubas.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 24, 2014. This post is long overdue. I'm not even sure I'll be able to remember everything that's happened in the last couple of months! Jacob has grown and changed so much in the last two months! He's officially self feeding, no more pureed foods. I was still sending some to daycare but only to get rid of what I had in my freezer. Jacob loves to eat. And he can eat a lot! We've also been spoiling him with the occasional marshmallow and ice cream cone. :). His new favorite song is the "Hot ...

Music of the Zaruba Life: March 2014
http://zarubas.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 6, 2014. Some of this and that. These past few days have made me realized how truly blessed we've been with a healthy baby so far! This was the first time that Jacob has really been sick. Sure, he's had a couple small colds and one bout of pink eye, that luckily we caught right at the beginning and it was gone in just a couple of days. But this time, we had a sick little baby on our hands. He will get up on all fours and rock back and forth before going back on his tummy. His head is ...

Music of the Zaruba Life: November 2013
http://zarubas.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 17, 2013. So much has seemed to change already that I thought I'd post another blog about it! One, to keep you all updated, but also because I plan to use this blog as I track Jacob's development and milestones. We're continuing our rice cereal meal in the evening. And Jacob is already becoming a pro and eating from the spoon. He quickly learned that it will get him food and opens his mouth and sometimes even leans forward to get that rice cereal! Jacob also loves bath time! He's also gr...

Music of the Zaruba Life: February 2014
http://zarubas.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 12, 2014. Who doesn't love Jacob updates? Jacob is teething again, this time he's working on cutting those top front teeth. We've noticed some of the same habits from the last time he was cutting his bottom teeth: waking and feeding more at night, drooling, fighting sleep at night. So we know he's probably in some pain, which is no fun for him. Hopefully they come in sooner rather than later! Jacob has started eating solids twice a day. But he hasn't figured out the crawling thing yet!

Music of the Zaruba Life: July 2015
http://zarubas.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 21, 2015. A time to feel overwhelmed. Life has these stages or periods when you're going through a change. First, we were in that Waiting Period. Of the unknown. Luckily, we seem to be moving from that phase to the next fairly quickly. While there are still plenty of unknowns, at least we're moving along. This next phase, I'm going to call the Overwhelming Time. These past two weeks have been some of the most overwhelming. Also during the week, Austin got a call and was offered the job!
